As I said it is what they are instructed to do no attempt to move it on or another teammate comes in on top to kill the contest (as what happened to petrenko) after the Gwilt decision they pay holding the ball. The rational is to keep the game moving to induce fatigue so the game slows down.

Don't blame the umpires blame the laws committee and the AFL. The umpires are only doing what they are instructed to do.

Not having a go at you gadj but as a Crows follower it find it embarrasing watching a Crows game and listening to the crowd go off at correct umpiring decisions - seriously NFI.

Well they got back to a point, but then fell away again. Very disappointing, but the Saints were pretty good all night.

I gotta say I thought the decision was a stinker .. No prior, didn't drag the ball in, that just leaves attempt to dispose .. How can you tell if he's trying with 3 blokes on him??

Seriously this game should be a great promotion for the SANFL ... The umpiring is just ridiculous, players from both teams have been thoroughly confused at times so how can they expect the public to know whats going on? Throw in the ridiculous amount of handball and I find it hard to see what's attractive about a game like that which is commonplace in modern footy.

As a richmond fan, i thought the umpiring in teh st.kilda and crows game WAS A DISGRACE. crows received some lucky free's but the amount they st kilda received or the umpires missed were an absolute JOKE. Worst umpiring display i have seen for years.

Bugger the umpires. The Cows played ring-a-ring-a-rosey with the ball nd thats why they lost. As a Carlton supporter i don't care what happens to the cows but as a South Australian it's very embarrassing the way they carry on.
I remember a trial game against Freo I went to so my wife could see her Dorkers play. The crowd was screaming for a deliberate out of bounds. The ball never managed to get within 20m of the boundary. It was heading there but never made it

I agree. I don't know if it's as bad as it first was, but for about the first 4-5 seasons in the AFL, according to their fans the Crows never lost a game without being screwed by umpires. And then at the end of each game there wold be the customary booing of umpires ... pathetic. As you said .. embarrassing.

the Umpiring was discaceful!!!!, i am not saying that it Influenced the Result. The saints were to good, their Defensive Pressure was outstanding, and thats the reason why the Crows went in circle's.
But it will be interesting to see what THE GEISH says about the effort buy his umpires last night. i hope all three have a week of next week.

As if thats unique to Crows supporters

Of course it gets amplified when 90% out of 48,000 people barrack for one team. Most of the crowd are unsighted to a decision and so they naturally follow those that saw an incident.

Just last week Eddie wanted a special meeting with Gieschen re umpiring decisions.
