The AFL is one of those businesses where everyone knows everyone, and you are the perfect example of that. ;-)

It's troppo season in Darwin, you are allowed to be confused. :-)

KURT Tippett has declared his innocence in the Adelaide salary cap scandal and threatened to sue the club if deregistered by the AFL.

In a move which will further incur the wrath of Crows fans, Tippett has accused Adelaide of inducing him to enter into an unlawful agreement with the club in 2009.

A Crows spokesman last night confirmed "some legal correspondence" had lobbed at the club from the Tippett camp, angrying officials.

"We've looked at it and it's disappointing but we're not going to act on it until we see what happens on Monday," the spokesman said.

"At the moment we've got another case to prepare."

Monday is D-Day for Adelaide, which has been summoned to appear before the AFL Commission to answer charges of draft and salary cap breaches emanating from the contract Tippett - who has walked out on the club and wants to join Sydney - signed three years ago.

If found guilty, the Crows face a hefty fine and suspension from up to four drafts.

Tippett - who yesterday failed to nominate for the November 22 national draft and is now likely to be selected at the December 11 pre-season draft - is confident of escaping a penalty.

Yeah I thought this might happen when the story first started...

Panther32 Posted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 1:01 pm wrote:How would this scenario play out....

AFL ban Tippett or deny a trade to Sydney for pick 23 and White and Tippett is forced to sit out a season or be forced into the draft where he can get picked up by anyone for a whole lot less money.
Will Tippett then take the Crows to court over loss of wages as he had a signed deal with Adelaide to allow him to go anywhere, where he would've earnt a million a season from Sydney if they had of stuck to their part of the deal.
He could potentially go after them for millions!
Then on top of that the AFL are more than likely going to fine the club too.
I think the AFC pooed their pants when Tippett's Manager threatened to take them to the Supreme court and tried to go to the AFL for help!
This looks like it's going to get ugly for the AFC.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

The words TRAIN WRECK spring to mind.
Not just AFC but the the AFL in general are on the nose IMO.
The AFL are guilty for creating such a rancid system that is a minefield for clubs & players to negotiate.

I feel for the players & coaches who's footy may compromised/penalised because the suits cant get their shit together.

The introduction GWS & Goldcoast is the the root of it all. Clubs doing dodgy deals to try keep their squads together.
I'm sure Adelaide arent alone.
Gazz should still be at the Cats, Scully at the Dees & Bock at the Crows.

Its all Bollocks!
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

@Panther32. You are right except Tippett won't be in the national draft, he will be in the pre season draft where he nominates a salary, so he won't loose any money, except of course for the balfours money.

Waste of money? Whatever it cost the afl to set up GC and GWS would have been recouped in the best tv deal in Australian history.
