Jack Bowes chooses Geelong.

Taken at pick #10 in 2016 Bowes is reportedly owed $1.6m over the next two years, to help dump his salary Gold Coast are giving pick 7 with him.

As such Geelong get a former top 10 pick and this years pick 7 for chump change as they'll spread his deal over 4 years, so around $400k per year.

They'll use pick 7 to get Bruhn from GWS, pick 12 in 2020.

Effectively they'll get 3 top 12 picks in (Bowes, Bruhn pick 7) for nothing.

Tell me again how this draft system helps the bottom teams when players choose the best team to go to

100% the system has a lot of flaws in it.

There was some talk that it wasn’t pick 7 on its own and in fact the Suns want next years first thrown in.

That's a decent pay cut.....1.6mil over two years vs 400k over 4 years.......or do GC still have to pay some of his wage.

I guess it shows how much players are willing to lose to be part of a successful side.

Bowes is a dud and will most likely play VFL for his whole career at Geelong. It’s pretty evident that Geelong just want the pick 7 and Bowes is the steak knife thrown in

Geelong seem to live for the next season. Will be a pretty handy depth player……not many clubs would have blokes like him in their 35th-40th best player.

Will be better next season than some young 17/18 year old from the lotto

If we use pick 7 on Bruhn that's two top 12 picks. We don't get to use 7 twice. It's good to see the battling clubs get a break here...

Geelong weren't always the best team.
Short memories

If the AFL gave Sydney a trade ban for their perfectly legitimate FA signing of Buddy Franklin then surely they're considering something similar for Geelong right now

They used to have one.

Spent many a lunch break in year 11 and 12 at that joint.

It was Black Rooster or Eltheton Takaway for us, Black Roosters chips were quality.

Black rooster Chips were the best.
What was the pizza joint next to it called?
Used to love a late night pizza from that guy(he wore coke bottle glasses).

Bellini's. Still there

What was the joint called right on St Vinnies and Church Place? Used to be my go to when I lived up that way, I reckon there's a domino's there now.

Reckon it was Port Adelaide Charcoal Chickens.
