Jenkins was terrible, he gave nothing when Adelaide were dominating I50's in the second quarter and they were crying out for a target.

Dangerfield's game was interesting. 36 touches, yes, but at 63% efficiency with 7 clangers. He just needs to slow down, look at his options and hit a target. The second quarter he absolutely burnt 4 centre clearances that he won with poor disposal. He's a super ball winner but only average ball user.

Jaensch was clearly the first picked rebounding defender, I note, as above, that Laird is ahead of him now IMO.

Cameron, looks lost at times. He's not going to step on Betts' toes when structuring up under a pack. His role might not be needed at the moment, seemed like a waste of a player I50 with Betts looking so damaging.

where's JPod? Injured? Jenkins looked lazy, maybe deflated? he was directly in the middle of Port's massive defensive press, not many would shine in that environment

if cameron had kicked the goal, and hit eddie on the chest the second time yesterday, he could be the hero of today. kids need to make these errors to make them angrier and smarter for next time. Charlie would be filthy with himself today, and that should in turn help him to grow as a player

Pods has a fractured back. He's still some weeks away I think. Problems if he's their answer, which I don't think he is. Bar the opening round, Jenkins has been unsighted.

He was excellent last year though. Seems to be down on confidence this year. Maybe the lack of any real pressure for his spot (even if that was a Shaun mckernan amount of pressure) has made him a little complacent?

Reckon lowden might get a crack soon

What did Crow fans think of the decision to isolate Betts 1 on 1 deep in the forward 50?

I personally think it didn't work, and that he is better off feeding from the mismatch that is created when opposition defenders shift their focus towards Walker. It not only gives him the one on one opportunity against his opponent, but the opportunity to crumb from the alternate contest. 1 out allowed Port to shift numbers back, and Eddie was never a chance against sometimes 3 defenders.

In saying that though- there were a couple of times where he has us beaten down field out over the back, only for a turnover or poor execution to quell the movement.

walker was very poor last night (seems the norm considering he has know one taking the number one defender anymore ;) )
Betts was awesome and is worth every cent.

Walker got no help from Jenkins last night. Lynch is up on the wing picking it up off his boot laces while Walker is on or outside 50 as the next option. Carlile, on several occasions, literally worked Walker outside 50 by push, push, pushing him to the ball leaving Adelaides structure broken down.

That's why they fluffed so many going forward, nobody was where they were meant to be.

Betts is the premier small fwd in the AFL, better than Rioli. The rest of the team though....
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

The Showdown showed how much we need another key backmen and key forward. Can't have Cheney standing Shultz. I think it's time to fast track Lever if he's not injured.

tony modra agrees #6

but then theyll bring him in, he'll look too young n skinny, and then you'll you be screaming how crap he is, put him back in the ressies and bring back hartigan

lever looks to be the premier defender in 2 years time but he's a kid underweight, and crows want him in now to play on likes of the AFL's power forwards??

Sure gets a lot of talk about him for a bloke who hasn't played at AFL level yet.

Must do Hartigans confidence a world of good too!

Well that's the conundrum. Do you give Hartigan a shot at redemption against Lynch/Dixon, or is this the perfect time to give Lever a taste of AFL footy on the back of 2 really strong SANFL performances??
