Im the opposite, there is nothing like walking to the ground at night and seeing the lights on etc. there is a buzz in the air for a night game that there just isnt there for a day game.

twilight is perfect i reckon.

So you wouldn't get the same buzz going to see your side play in a day grand final???

Besides $$$$ there is no real reason to change it!!!

Although I see benny's point about the atmosphere of the lights and it being at the end of the day, I think we stick with tradition on this one, it's still an amazing atmosphere with a packed stadium.

There's pro's and con's all round and I have no doubt the night GF will be penciled in one day, sorry, night.

It does feel as though there's that added buzz leading in to a night game, but when it comes to a GF I wouldn't imagine that would be any different whether day or night. I reckon next season they'll change the time slot

i dont think moving it to twilight would negatively affect the game in any way either. we already play most other games in either night or twilight slots.

why not cash in on moving the timeslot.

i dont mind tradition when there is a reason for it. but just having the game in the daytime doesnt really matter to me.

i do take jim's point though. an extra 2 hours on the piss before the game starts could be dangerous haha

Jesse Hogan is unlikely to play for Melbourne this week after his father, Tony, lost his long battle with cancer.

The Melbourne FC is expected to release a statement later this morning.

FYFE TO SAINTS?

A Perth radio station has claimed Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe has agreed a multi-million dollar deal to play with St Kilda from next AFL season.

The Dockers have declined to comment on the veracity of the claim, attributed to a loose-lipped Saints board member. Brad Fitzgerald, co-host of the ‘Carmen & Fitzi’ program on WA-based radio station 96FM, said he had a “massive scoop” on the future of the 2015 Brownlow medallist.

“The offer is worth $1.5 million a season and it is - as far as legally wise - it’s virtually accepted,” he said on Monday morning.

“He can’t sign yet but it’s basically a done deal and he is going to St Kilda.”

Fitzgerald said he had been told the news by a Saints executive. “I can’t name names but this has come from a high-ranking board member of St Kilda,” he said.
“Think of me like Yoda, but instead of being little and green I wear suits and I'm awesome. I'm your bro—I'm Broda!”

I think as much as Fyfe loves the club and Perth he realises Freo are a million miles away from playing playing finals again

Why would you go to a club that has won one flag and are just perennial under achievers

2017 HFC trade period plans to be revised??

Anyways this Fyfe to the Saints trade rumour is now on the interweb, so it must be true.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

He would want to improve to justify that amount. His form is only fair at the moment and miles away from his Brownlow medal form.

That's crazy if those figures are correct. Sydney having to shed players should be a warning to all clubs that investing so heavily in one player is fraught with trouble.

Cap is probably going to go up by 10-20% this year. I'd say most clubs already have someone on close to $1m a year or maybe more so $1.5m isn't that far fetched
