I just had an Epiphany, I can celebrate the 10th year of Geelongs 2007 premiership this year and the anniversary next year. That's over 6 days for each point we won the Grand Final by!
Looking forward to the two reuinions!

You can also celebrate being #1 grammatically, pity about your spelling though. :D

I blame my phone, plus I'm not the traditional Geelong fan, they're a bit weird over there.

The Eagles would really crack you up Wedgie - they celebrated their 20th year in 2011, and then their 25th year in 2015, four years later.

In the 21st mate but we'll only celebrate it at the end just like I celebrated my 21st birthday at the end of my 21st year, not at the start of it.
Did people celebrate the year 2000 at the start of the century or did they celebrate the 2001st year starting?
What did all the glasses, Tshirts and hats have on it?
Did South Australia celebrate the Jubilee in 1985?
Did Australia celebrate 100 years of Federation in 2000?
Did the SANFL celebrate its century in 1976?
Did Australia celebrate the bicentenary of the First Fleet in 1987?
Did the original Port Adelaide Football Club celebrate 100 years in 1969?
Are they celebrating the 51st year of Star Trek or the 50th year of Star Trek this year?
Are they celebrating the 40th anniversary of the England World Cup win this year or celebrated the start of the 40th year since it happened last year?
Did we celebrate SAFootys 10th birthday or the start of its 10th year?

Dumb Port, dumb Crows, dumb Eagles.

Indeed. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about, or debating, or ruining my fellow workers lunch breaks with inane discussion about what other AFL clubs are doing. Really is quite amusing.

Talking about what other clubs are doing is fine, arguing over which year constitutes the real anniversary is pointless

Yes, I'm sure the chiefs at Alberton are closely monitoring this and thinking "Should we listen to the nuffys or not?"

PORT ADELAIDE will wear a guernsey commemorating the start of its 20th AFL season when it hosts St Kilda at the Adelaide Oval in Round 1.

In doing so, it will be the first time Port has worn an 'away' guernsey in an AFL home game.

The guernsey is a replica - with the modern corporate, AFL and apparel sponsor logos - of that worn onto the MCG when the Power played Collingwood in Round 1, 1997.

Replete with the original shade of teal and the unique block numbering approved for the 1997 season, it will be the first time this guernsey design has been worn by Port Adelaide since it was retired as an away strip in 2002.

The skipper of the Power in that first game in 1997 was Brayden Lyle, who filled the void of the suspended club captain Gavin Wanganeen in that historic first game.

He says the chance to stand at the Adelaide Oval as the modern Port Adelaide runs out on March 27 against the Saints will bring back plenty of memories.

“It was a very special moment running out onto the MCG that day knowing that you were representing the past and present Port Adelaide community who had worked so hard for us to enter the AFL,” Lyle told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“This guernsey is a huge part of Port Adelaide’s history.

"Not only is it the first guernsey we wore in the AFL but it’s also the guernsey we wore when we beat the Crows in the first Showdown.

“I’ll be very proud to see the current Port Adelaide team take this guernsey into a new era when they run onto Adelaide Oval in Round 1 against St Kilda.”

Port Adelaide will wear its usual black shorts and socks, as with all home games.

In before the incredibly insightful "what is the real teal" debate kicks up again.

In all fairness neither shades of turquoise are close to teal.
