They have to beat one that is in the top 8 at the time to claim that.

crows fans trying to get technical now they realise the sides they have beaten. even heard 1 fan tonight saying they'll finish top 4.

Felt for North today as a Tiger fan that kind of heart break has been going on for years.

WGAF. Neither team will play finals, so you don't have to worry about beating top 8 teams.

Think they may play finals but have a tough couple of months coming up.
On current form would think they may only win 1-2 of next 8 but with the belief they got from today they could win more.
Cant see them making Top 4 though

I'm hoping both Port and the Crows can pull themselves together and get into the top four for the finals along with two other non-Melbourne teams.
Admittedly it is a slim hope.

I'm really waiting to hear the Melbourne media bleat the year there is not a single Melbourne based team in the 8!
(Of course they'll then turn Brisbane back into Fitzroy or Sydney back in "Souths" for the duration, or reclaim Geelong as a suburb.)

Agree, think there is another couple of spots that are close to looks.

West Coast (will win enough games at home to play finals)
Essendon (with their start 'should' win enough game to play finals)

The next two spots will be battled out by Adelaide, Carlton, Richmond and Collingwood imho.

Wouldn't write North Melbourne off yet. Could easily win next 7 out of 8.

Couple of weeks ago people wrote of West Coast.

Major differance is West Coast had a horror injury run and most people thought they would get better with the players coming back in.
The Roos would be shattered after coughing up yet another decent lead, will have deep scars. A lot will depend how quickly they can sort it out but the season is rapidly passing them by

Felt a bit the same. Wanted them to win, picked 'em, backed 'em. About the worst possible way for North to lose, given whats previously happened.

North would be the best side outside of the top 8 according to many, but narrow losses have hurt big time. I do think had they won at least one of those narrow losses then today's result may have gone the other way, it's like they have forgotten how to win. Of these losses today's would hurt the most because the others were against sides far better tan we are at the minute.

at 3-6 you think North can win 9 or 10 of its last 13 games
Maybe played GWS melbourne and buldogs twice in those 13 games they could.
