Unreal negotiation - provides $'s, gives extra home games back in Melbourne and we don't play any away games in Perth where we often play twice anyway.

Using the leverage of the WA teams concerns with the AFL over their travel has been a masterstroke.

How are you getting extra home games? You are getting 1 or 2 less travel games but they aren't extra 'home' games. North fans never cease to amaze me, selling home games is a 'masterstroke' now lol

Also this would mean North only play WC once next year then. I would have thought that if you had a choice, you would want to get them twice to give you a better chance of an extra win?

They will, see :

2025 - 7 Marvel, 2 Tas, 2 WA

2026/27 - 9 Marvel, 2 WA

What they do though is now play two games in WA at an away venue as opposed to 4 in Tassie at their home away from home.

No, Port and North. This doesn't include the Bullies.

Cant please people, if we sit on our hands, cry poor and take $'s from the AFL we get smashed for not evolving and adapting. If we do something bold like this we get smashed for selling out.

I think most just think you should do it on your own in the home state you play.

The fixture is wrong if you sell two home games to WA and then not have to play any away games in WA. The clubs choice to sell games to WA.

I don't think it can be called anything but selling out. It literally is just that.

Hawks, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Western Bulldogs (Ballarat), GWS all currently do it, same view for them?

They aren't playing those games at their opposition's home ground though? I wouldn't include Hawthorn, GWS or the WB in the above line either, I would consider the games they are selling off to Tassie, Ballarat & Canberra are still good home ground advantages for them. Same as North in Tassie.

You've basically sold 2 home games to opposition teams - noting the West Coast game isn't at their normal home ground.

Surely it's at the stage for North that they need to prioritise wins over some extra $$? Or is the financial situation that bad in the year to year numbers that they can't afford to do so (I know North aren't in debt atm)?

Yep, although some of those are totally different

None of them have the second part of the discussion, hope North don’t get the luxury of not playing away games vs WA sides
