550k is fair enough.

This year he Kicked more than Cameron, hooker, Roughead, Lynch (GC), Stringer and the same as Patton

Really? I honestly don't think that highly of him, i'd take those blokes named above (except Stringer) ahead of him.

Honestly can't see Jenkins being a key leading target up forward for any side. Not to say he couldn't i guess, but just given how i've seen him play over the past two years..

Well I would take those other guys too. My point was he gets potted when his contributions are actually very good. If he was the main forward he might kick 40 goals in a year which is still a decent output.

I actually can’t think of a team who he doesn’t make their best 22. Maybe GWS, but they could definitely play him ahead of lobb based on recent form.

Yes he is tall and heavy but he just isn’t a bash and crash player. I wish he was too but he isn’t. Shows how much we missed McGovern I guess but that’s another discussion. He is valuable in the role he plays to our team.

The crows losing the GF seems to be better than you're own team winning for some.

We must be doing something right to create so much reaction from other supporters!

Trust me, my team winning IS the best thing in football and nothing is better than that, think of me any other way and you're wrong, completely wrong.

When that isn't going to eventuate I then default to my dislike of Geelong, North, Adelaide, Sydney and the rest. That's my order.

How come you hate Geelong so much Booney?
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

At the end of 2000 you took Paul Koulouriotis from us, I'll never forgive you lot for that. Never I say. Never.

You are right Benny, he's not an awful player by any stretch.

But you're struggling to keep other players and he is one prominent example of maximising his contract off one good year.

Maybe Jenkins is worth $550k, but if that is true, logic dictates Lever is worth > $600.

It's that imbalance which people are picking up on.

I can only imagine how many posts you'd make on here if one of the teams you really disliked lost a GF or was losing a player then!

Everyone is worth more to the clubs trying to pry that player away.

Don’t forget Jenkins reportedly had a 5 year 750k contract on offer from Brisbane

Also 193 goals over the past 4 years is a bit more than “one good year”

At a guess that would put him close to top 10 in the afl over that period.

Yeah but he signed after he kicked 60+. Which was his peak by a fair margin.

He's a 40 goal a year sort of campaigner. Nothing to sneeze at, but probably not who you would want to be in your top few highest paid when AA calibre young stars are leaving.

that will test out his ''Melbourne or into the draft'' stance.

Pick 6 and Scharenberg suddenly on the table for the crows?

Smells a little now. Collingwood come in as a later player to the Lever deal in the days after the GF, Lever's manager becomes Collingwoods list manager....

Stinky.
