Geelong key forward Tom Hawkins has skipped training on Tuesday morning leaving some intrigue less than a week out from the 2020 AFL Grand Final.
Hawkins is being quarantined away from his teammates after feeling sick, with the Cats taking every precaution to ensure nothing is passed to the players.

It’s understood the Coleman Medal winner was set to do a press conference on Monday, before veteran Harry Taylor stepped in with the Cats labelling the change due to a “family commitment”.

No need to panic though, we have Josh Jenkins!

It clearly won't be the same experience as 100,00 at the G but I'm trying to be excited to be part of the most 'different' GF in the game's history. If we win, I definitely won't care.

Anyone been to The Gabba and can recommend a bay to watch the game from? Usually it's a ballot for what seat you get at the G but I think we can pick and choose a bit more this year.

Jealous Mate have to work this weekend getting our unit ready for sale but will be watching the game on a big screen somewhere.

The MCG might be unusually empty on AFL Grand Final day, but that’s not going to stop footy fans around the country from tucking into the traditional match-day pie.

In fact, a whopping $14.8 million is expected to be spent across Australia in food delivery for the Grand Final, according to an estimate from Deliveroo. That’s an increase of 35% on last year, as fans are forced to skip the pub and watch from home.

According to Deliveroo’s research pies are (to no-one’s surprise) the meal of choice when watching the AFL, as voted for by 33%. The next-most ordered dishes for match day are pizza, burgers, chicken wings and hot chips.

Maybe there’s a reason behind the love of pies: superstition. A full 17% of fans rate a beef pie with hot chips as the luckiest match day meal.

Just avoid the salad. Nearly a quarter of Aussies (23%) say salad is the unluckiest meal on game day, followed by nachos (7%). So if your team loses on Sunday, feel free to blame anyone digging into a Caesar, Waldorf or Cobb.

And the rivalry between the Cats and Tigers won’t just heat up on the field; there’s even a difference in their fans’ favourite pies.

Steak, Bacon & Cheese is king of the pies for the Richmond faithful, whereas Geelong fans prefer Chunky Steak.

But it’s surely no surprise that Collingwood Magpies fans love their pies more than any other team, with 30% of fans rating it their favourite dish.

Watched a bit of the 92 GF on Fox Footy tonight at work and two things hit me, one how bloody tough the game was then and two I have no idea how Geelong lost that game! I forgot we actually put up a fight as I went in 94 and that was horrid.

Now to find 8 hours sleep somewhere....
