The Cats have traded pretty heavily over the last couple of years which has deprived of us of future picks add to that we have a lot of experience retire or be moved on. There is currently a lack of depth in the club and it will be harder to uncover talent in the future with a lack of picks. The time for a premiership is now and I dont believe Scott has what it takes to deliver that. I was really hoping we would have some new blood coming in. I just hope Scott can prove us wrong but i doubt it.

don't say that shit too loud around the place, you will get hounded.

I 100% agree with that.

we have a situation of
game plan A

when that fails - refer to plan A

when that fails refer to plan A

do that over and over

until a light bulb moment

when its all falling apart lets put Harry Taylor up forward......(I don't mind that, its just the lack of anything else that infuriates me).

When Bomber Thompson took over, we had a gameplan, that he persisted with and almost led to his demise. But it was an attacking style, and Ive always believed I would rather my team lose in a shootout than play like a Ross Lyon coached team. Admittedly over those years we recruited brilliantly to match that plan.

it appears that we have recruited for a Premiership last year and this, and after that???? The one positive is that we have never bottomed out, but I can see that coming on the horizon.

I'm really not sure we are capable of that, we have a lack of depth, our 2nd tier players just aren't as good/effective as the ones we had when we were a dominant force.

anyway, we will absolutely flog the Dockers, the rabble that they are and the useless coach they have, and most of this will be forgotten about for another week or so....

Who is going to hound him? I agree with what Fenix said. Scott is frustrating in the extreme. But the second tier players do need to step up or we can't win the flag.

Cockatoo out for a few weeks with a thumb injury, a shame as he looked good against Freo.

List just isn't that good.
If Selwood goes down you are stuffed. Dangerfield gets a ton of it but geez his kicking is horrendous, hit North players on the chest more than his own players today

Look, I agree wholeheartedly.
I don't think we are a genuine top 8 team, and I've said that on here.
Our 2nd tier players just aren't that good.

Coaching, not the list is the problem. If you can beat the Bulldogs twice but you can't beat Collingwood and Carlton it's not the list. In an 18 team competition there are a lot of shallow lists. Another problem for the Cats is player development. A lot of players just haven't come on under Scott. Also, sOme of our selections in the past two years have been bemusing to say the least. Having the balls to drop Motlop would be a good start.

We'll be fine. Taylor must play back though. That was a great win to come back from where we were. That's what good teams do. They find a way to win and we did that. Not sure why all the negativity. Can't do much more than win and so far we're doing that.

I think it's more or expectations, most would tout Geelong as top 4ish, most have North finishing around 10th to 14th, probably need to win these sort of games convincingly. North did show some ticker though and jumped out of the gates nicely.

It' was still better than a loss and most teams would have lost from that position. I can be a harsh critic of the Cats at times but it's hard to knock a team when they're still winning. I think it's going to be an exciting year for the Catters.

I wasn't able to watch the second half but was doing regular check ups and when they were 4 goals down during the last I still had confidence.

we were always going to be a chance at 3/4 time, only because we revert back to moving the ball quickly through the middle, and we look a million ******* dollars when we play that way.....the gameplan that we initially set up with is just a catastrophic failure.
and id argue REB that I'm not sure that our 2nd tier group would get games elsewhere.

Even though it was an easy game we did come off a Perth trip too, if Melbourne hadn't lost two of their stars through the MRP they'd almost be good things this week as we have a nasty start with travel and Etihad. Big fan of Parfitt as he's a Rooster but he's not league standard yet. Motlop needs to pull his finger out too.

Fair call this. We need to win as many as we can until we start getting those Cat Park games.

We aren't playing consistent football but we are winning. I'm starting to get won over by the Harry experiment as Tom isn't getting double or triple teamed and there is more space for guys like Menz to kick goals. Our rucks are still a worry as Smith is a fair way down the pecking order but I think we go top four this year. Have a look at Sydney and Hawthorn...we were up with them but we aren't down with them. At the moment anyway.

Interesting one thus far the Cats, haven't looked capable of posting big scores thus far and have been heavily reliant on each of the two superstars, but well placed now and if blokes like Guthrie and Motlop can build up to somewhere near their best they'll look stronger.

18, 17 and 20 goals aint too bad!
Agree with REB about the Harry experiment, we've completely turned around our forward entry efficiency since hes been up there.

Anyway expect them to lose to Hawthorn as Im going.
