I think definitely AFL and state league games, don't think you could cancel community football.

Absolute tragedy, and a very harsh reminder that life is precious and shouldn't be taken for granted.

Really feel for everyone involved at the Crows - first Bailey now Walsh, it's a lot to absorb.

Crows & Port to surely get together and nut out something to commemorate Phil Walsh - perhaps change the Showdown medal to the Phil Walsh medal?

Not judging that one yet. There would have to be some pretty extreme circumstances for that to occur.

I worry about the AFL surely they wouldn't stoop so low as to try and get the game to be played for their own reasons

Just call this weekends games off already and decide over the next few days about next weeks game

It's only grown men playing a game with a ball

That's a bit full on there mate, it's a tragedy for sure but the AFLPA will make the call no doubt after assessing the well being of the players.
It happens at grass root level, I'm sure Phil would want the show to go on.

I mean that in the least disrespectful way possible, I am deeply shocked and very saddened.

They will make the right decision, I have no opinion on what is the wrong or right thing to do, I can respect their decision either way.

There is surely no way the players mindset could be right 2x days before a scheduled game - how do you even get yourself up for something like that.. this will hit home hard over the coming days, cant see them being fit to play.

When was the last violent murder of a well known identity in Adelaide? I can't recall one in my lifetime. Just crazy that it's happened right here on our doorstep. What a disgraceful way for a man to die.

If someone passes away just generally, would they cancel the whole round? Death is a part of life, million $$$ industries don't get put on hold just because this particular passing occurred with malicious intent. The crows Geelong game should be called a no contest, share the points with respect to Phil Walsh. Vale

Unbelievable...

Give the Crows and Geelong 2 points each and play the rest of the round IMO.

A coach getting murdered is a fair bit different to "someone passing away generally" ie dean Bailey

After watching the Fox Sports News crossover with Julian De Stoop it sounds like the AFL are giving the Crows the call as to weather the game goes ahead.

Death is death, it's horrific and final at any level and in any circumstance.

I'm a believer in celebrating people's lives opposed to mourning their passing, although there is no time to put something together to honour Phil this week I'm sure it would hold greater significance for everyone in the inner sanctum to get out there and show some Phil Walsh spirit.

I can fully understand if the Crows match or the whole round doesn't go ahead, I believe that it will though.

This is very hard to digest, you just don't wake up hearing this shit too often.

Staggered
Sad, sad news.
Not just because of the football aspect, but sounds like he was a very interesting person, which the general public were just starting to learn about.
