Agreed to a point; it would be interesting to see if any research says "most" are having a "toot here and there".

I don't think we'll ever really know. Though I don't think too many could function for long as a high performance athlete and be doing large quantities of party drugs at the same time.

if you went on holiday to thailand and decided to partake in some recreational drugs that you would never do when you are at work do you think you should be fired?

thats basically the question here.

The whole policy is more than what almost any other sport has.

I think 3 strikes is ok, but i also agree that there shouldn't be a loophole for self reporting

The AFL and the clubs have no right to invade your personal life outside of work hours. If players want to indulge in a toot or two in their off time good luck to them

Should the same apply to Surgeons?
I think the medical colleges would have some concern about skill and judgement next day...

the next day is different to whilst on holidays - if they test positive for most of those illicit drugs on a match day they would be dealt with under the ASADA code
