5-8 SHOULD have nearly zero chance of playing in a GF. Win more games during the year. The best sides over the year should make the GF not scrubber sides who scrape in and get lucky with one good game

On the contrary - it is effectively a top 4 system at the moment with some meaningless practice games beforehand.

FWIW, I think the AFL have got it just about right, the only thing that isn't is the mandatory Melbourne match(es) each week, which have more to do with existing contractual arrangements with Docklands and MCG rather than scheduling.

Yeah looked at your stats, should be trying to decrease the chance of 5-8 winning rather than increase it. Top 4 have earnt it for the hard work over the whole season.
As ive always said id go back to a top 6 if I was in charge

Personally if there was a way of graduating it so first was the highest chance, and each spot decreased in an equal amount to 8th, that would be the best system. I think the difference between 4th and 5th at the moment is too big.
