No doubt many Crows fans would be hoping the same, Joker.
But I predict they'll finish well below last years result because -
1. They have a tougher draw
2. The 2nd year blues after a new coaches' buzz and excitement starts to wear off
3. They couldn't possibly have another dream run with player fitness/injury like last year
4. Don't know if Walker is good enough to dominate every club's best defender every week
5. There really isn't an "x factor" in their line-up
6. Their depth isn't all that great if Tambling still gets consideration for a game
7. They aren't starting the season in a blaze of glory like last year - confidence must be down & that's not ideal
I could be wrong, but that is an alternative point of view for you.

Excellent point, a massive importantance to how successful the Crows will be this season. Can big Texy do it?

no

The games towards the end of the year last year when Tippett was out with concussions, Tex still did alright. Didn't do well against the cats, but kicked 4 in each of the games against Freo and the bombers
I'm proud of you fellas. You all kept your head on a swivel, and that's what you gotta do when you find yourself in a vicious cock fight!

Look, I cant stand them and I dont know what your definition of "X Factor" is in regards to players. But the way I look at it if you dont consider Dangerfield and Walker as "x factors", I dont know who is. They both have the ability to single handedly influence a game and that is, IMO, what "x factor" is all about.

I too believe Walker will struggle a little with the added focus on him and for him to thrive this year they desperately need McKernan, Johnston on Jenkins to stand up as a foil for Walker. If not, Walker will get mobbed by the best tall defender and the third man up / drop off defender making life pretty hard.

Their draw is tougher, but I expect them to make the 8.

100% agree Booney - you look up Xfactor in the dictionary and it says

X factor
Part of Speech: n
Definition: a hard-to-describe influence or quality; an important element with unknown consequences; Patrick Dangerfield or Tex Walker also written X-factor

I hate the Crows but I'm looking forward to watching Dangerfield this season and see him getting better and better. The blokes a out and out gun and yeah, has the potential to be the best player in the competition.

I remember an interview about 4 years ago with Michael Turner from Geelong and he said that Dangerfield was a better U/17 footballer than both Gary Ablett jnr and Lance Franklin. I thought at the time that it was a big call....now I can see where he was coming from.

Dangerfield is every chance of being better than both.
At 22, Ablett had his breakout year with the Cats. Dangerfield is currently 22 and tracking better than Ablett was at this stage.

And how would you know who was better at U/17 level out of Dangerfield, Ablett and Franklin? I am sure Michael Turner would have a fair idea as he is involved with the Geelong Falcons.

because there would of been more talk of dangerfield then there was about franklin and ablett. dangerfield will never be near the quality of franklin and ablett and if you think so you might want to see someone about it.
