in your opinion...

Well i never said they were going to take us somewhere and win us a flag, i was saying that everyone would of thought those 3 were rejects, yet they have actually shown something since being at the tigers (all finished in the top 10 of the B&F). They are by no means superstars but Grigg and Houli are only 24 while Maric is 27. Still got some footy to come out of these blokes and probably their best footy.

The main purpose of stating these 3 names was to defend the Chaplin, Knights and Edwards pick ups that imo will follow similar footsteps of the above 3. New scenery together with a new challenge and Knights and Chaplin are only 26 and Edwards is 28. So there is probably a case of their best footy to come too.

Those players above together with the development of the young players we have coming through is forming a pretty decent side that can be competitive in a finals series imo

You got more out of Kent Kingsley than you will Edwards ;)

Like I said earlier, it won't be the recruits that take Richmond back to finals, it will be their young guns.
If they step up this year then the Tiges will play finals.

Enlighten me... i don't think Kingsley was that good, was Geelongs leading goal kicker from 2002-2005 and that is it. Hausl of 57, 33, 48 & 57. Played a total of 125 games for 239 goals.

Edwards has currently played 82 for 124 goals. Just over 100 goals down with 40 odd games up his sleeve. Will most likely fall short of those figures but i wouldnt say it shits all over...

Both as crap as one and other. I think with Riewoldt always getting the number one defender he will find a fair bit of it. I reckon 30-35 goals out of him will be a win for us.

I'm a Richmond supporter, and a fairly pessimistic one at that, but I'm semi-optimistic about our chances this year.

I wasn't for recruiting Chaplin (should've gone after Silvagni), we needed an out-and-out key defender to help Rance, not a drop-off Nick Maxwell spuddy-type. Puts some pressure on Ben Griffiths to stand up, showed glimpses last year.

Aaron Edwards is the important one, he won't get the best defender each week, and he only needs to have 4-5 kicks a game. He doesn't miss when he gets opportunities. Jack has needed a foil for long time, and who knows what (or if) Vickery will show up in 2013. If he can play weekly, and help out Riewoldt/Edwards up forward and give Maric a chop out in the ruck, we look a look better balanced.

Last year was excellent for guys like Grigg, Houli, Batchelor, Conca and Edwards. All stepped up a level. Morris, Ellis, Griffiths and Dea came in and played roles, and will be better for it this year. Newman should have a good year without the burden of captaincy. Deledio can play midfield full-time now, Houli, Newman, Ellis and Vlastuin can fill that role across half-back. Our first-choice midfield, with Cotchin, Deledio, Martin, Tuck, Grigg, Jackson as a tagger (should never actually touch the ball, turnover king) and a fully fit Foley (please?) is solid enough, and still has room to get better.

We can get back to September. I know I probably sound like any Richmond supporter in any February for the last 20 years, but I haven't been this positive for probably 10 years.

A pretty decent one in round 1.... can he show some consistency though, this guy has brilliant written all over him as we seen in round 1 but he just needs to maintain that level. An interesing fact, or an embarrassing one... The last time the Tigers won their opening two games of the season was back in 1997, we beat the Crows in round 2 who then went on to win the flag lol

I am predicting a top 8 finish for the tigers this year, and they will not finish 8th, it will be 7th or higher :)

Yeah, Cotchin should have been shagging his best mate's wife instead.
