Talk on the national game

Dick is injured, Hill will play but probably more of a roaming roll than Lecca did. Neates, Weedon & Hams and Dick when back are all options as well.

I am quite excited about our group and think top 4 is still very much achievable.

Pup, if you can make top four with out LeCras this year, then I'll back you for the flag next year, 100%.

If Weedon can continue from NAB round 1 then i wouldnt be surprised if WCE fit both him and Hill into their side.

Weedon certainly won't replace LeCras but his defensive pressure in the forward 50 is what Worsfold likes about him...

Yeah mate, I agree with that, there is no reason why we still can't make the top 4 again. Hill we get a role in the side, I'm not sure if that will be as a forward/mid like Lecras was going to, but he will play.

I think we will have to slightly re-gig the plans without Lecras as we dont have a direct replacement (I'm not sure anyone would have ). Weedon will get some game time up forward. Hams will get his chances throughout the year. Not sure about Dick, hes always injuried.

West Coast forward Mark Nicoski could miss the entire AFL season after suffering a major setback following surgery on his damaged hamstring.

Nicoski suffered a severe spasm in his left hamstring, which was operated on by surgeons just 10 days ago, and has damaged the repair.

The 28-year-old is likely to require more surgery, pushing back his return date even further.

What are your thoughts. Im getting a little concerned with how easy sides can control us at the moment. Last year, a stand out was our tackling pressure, this year that is down a fair bit and its showing. Obviouly Glass missing last week hurt us, as we had no other options for Pavlich. We are getting smashed in the mid field lately, with Kerr being the only bloke to be winning his position in there. Selwood and Priddis have dropped off recently, and when we go forward, we just seem to struggle to put score board pressure on good sides. Is kennedy ever coming back this year, or should I stop waiting. Embley will be a welcome return and rosa out at the moment is more damaging then you think. What's frustrating me is that Guys like Shuey and Hurn just get tagged out of the game to easy atm.
So at the moment, I don't know where we are at, are we foxing and trying a few things to peak in finals, or are we just hanging on. Unless there pressure on the ball carrier increases, we look like a spent force. I guess the upcoming weeks will tell us.

lol at mad hat saying eagles have a soft draw.

kennedy is 3 weeks away....for the last 3 weeks.
he may come back just before finals but big risk IMO if they chuck him straight back in.
i think we will get beaten again fri if cats play teh same way they did last week.
eagles were very very average against dockers,

5th or 6th is where we will finish, and if we win the first final we will lose the second

West Coast are supposedly interested in signing basketball star Mark Worthington:

West Coast will consider handing Australian Boomers star Mark Worthington the chance to live out his lifelong AFL dream when he flies home to WA next week.

Fresh from his second Olympic campaign, Worthington will undertake fitness and medical testing with the Eagles with a view to changing sports under special AFL rules relating to elite athletes.

The nephew of former Collingwood defender Kevin Worthington recently secured a lucrative contract to play basketball in Serbia after his NBL team, Gold Coast, folded at the end of last season.

The 29-year-old said he was excited about his Serbian venture, but had a long-held ambition to rekindle what had been a promising football career as a teenager.

West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett confirmed the club had flagged interest in Worthington under the same rookie-list rules that had seen Karmichael Hunt (rugby league), Israel Folau (rugby league), Setanta O'hAilpin (hurling) and Lachie Keeffe (soccer) join AFL clubs.

Last nights win against Collingwood, was the the best i have seen West Coast play all year. Our attack on the footy and pressure on the ball carrier was back to where it was last year. Its the first time in weeks and weeks that our midfield really dominated, which i didnt think we would do against Collingwoods quality midfield. Our forward line instantly looks more dangerous with Kennedy there. Although he was really underdone, he got better as the game went on, and a few marks almost stuck late in the game, but if hes not marking it, he crashes packs, plus he takes the best defender. I also think with him there, our forward press is so much better, because himself and Darling stop teams kicking long and out marking us.
Naitanui and Kerr were brilliant, Kerr was on his game, back to the glory days, he is still as good now as back then i think. Naitanui tap work was awesome, not against much opposition, but he was really clean at ground level, picking balls up and busting threw tackles. Screws up a few things still, but the good outway the bad easily and is amazing to watch.
I thought the score board flattered Collingwood, we missed alot of easy shots, should have been 10 goal+ win.
Only downside was Rosa cracking a collarbone. Terribly unlucky after just coming back from a broken jaw, but the courage he showed was first class. Just bad luck he ran into such a spastic like Chris Dawes.

Massive game next week, top 4 spot on the line, we need to show we can match or beat the Hawks. We lose, we play Freo first week. Hopefully Worsfold has us peaking at the right time this year. Best of all ill be at the MCG watching next Fridays match. Going to be a cracker.

i usually love watching him play........just didn't enjoy it much on saturday night.

the bloke is a freak. there is no other way to put it. he's an out and out freak. that mark he took on the goal line, one handed, nobody else in the league could have even got a hand to it with a running jump, and he marked it off of 1 or 2 steps.

The more I see NicNat, the more I think he will end his career the best ruckman the game has seen. Incredible leap, great speed, smart with his taps...
