GWS Giants?

Talk on the national game

Let's be honest, they had to do something different, there's only so many combinations you can make with 17 other teams in the competition. Unless the AFL want to really head NFL and have every away team of every game wear white.

The away team is already meant to wear white, or a predominantly lighter coloured strip for away games, or so i thought

Egads, that's terrible, and one of if not THE best colour for a footy guernsey in green is still going unused. Sigh.

Kept in reserve for Tassie?

Have to admit I've warmed to the guernseys slightly -pretty simple, but bold designs; but yeah it's a weird choice of colours.

I cant believe they went with "Greater Western Sydney" as the club name. What a mouthful.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Heard Sheeds on the radio this morning saying their away strip is going to be predominately sky blue.

Probably so Sydneysiders dont get confused. If you called it Western Sydney they might think it is Inner West like Balmain, if you called it West Sydney they might think it is a basketball team.

'Greater' has been used to describe all and/or outer suburbs of all cities for years. Not sure if it's still there as I haven't bought one for years but it used to be on the front cover of all UBDs including Adelaide.

Maybe I'm just weird.
I really like the colours.
And the design

*shrug*
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

You're not weird Diss, I like it too. Not sure about the nickname, but the colours and guernsey are a winner IMO.

I like the GWS colours too and the simple guernsey design. It's better than the Suns IMO. Name, colours and guernsey.

I agree with Wedgie thought about why the colour green has disappeared as an option seemingly. I can understand teams wanting to distinguish from all the Australian teams and avoid green and gold but what about green and something else? Black, white, charcoal. Maybe next expansion team ...
In between signatures .....

Agreed
Is 'West Sydney' too simple?
.. and don't like the orange sox.
Does anyone remember Hawthorn wearing gold sox in the late '80s and early '90s?
Atrocious.
The colours are great, the design is drab.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.
