Mike Nunan - that 1996 Fitzroy side was so dead set ordinary it wasn't funny even with the benefit of early draft picks in the preceeding three years. Gee he had Pike, Primus, Boyd, Johnson, etc good solid core of players so the players were there got to question the coaching....

I too don't rate knights however I have gained respect for him after his sacking!

I don't think you could find someone that took it like he did, did not make a scathing statement when he got sacked, and still hasn't, and simply the way he has handled it has been superb! So well done to him for that but he can't coach!!l

Those that have said Ayres.... I can't believe it. He may not have been popular, or liked by a lot of people but to say he's the worst coach is crazy. He got Geelong to two grand finals, and Adelaide were top nearing the end of one of their seasons. You can't 'accidentally' do that.

BUZZ. Gary Ayres got Geelong to one Grand Final. And kudos should be delivered because Adelaide were on 'top' nearing the end of one of their seasons? This guy took TWO Grand Final teams and led them to arguably their worst season ever. Ayres was hopeless at Geelong in 1999, with the same squad Bomber got them into the finals the very next year. Ayres was also the master of prematurely ending players careers. Just ask Steven Hocking who got stranded on 199 games. Complete and utter dud.

gary ayres was not liked by many people i was one of them but he turned a adelaide list which was done after two premierships and in three years in changing the list had them in a premilinary final which we could of won without a depleted
bench.

neil craig is not the worst coach, he took a side from 12th to premilinary finlasts in 2005 and 2006 after people said we were screwed and likely to finish bottom three because we were too old. In 2008 and 2009 we were not given chance to make the finals by most experts in the eastern states typical. He also was the key person in making adelaide the fittest side in 97 and 98 which he use in 05 and 06 and people said it was a poor decision, WRONG those people probably siad it was a great idea back in 97 and 98.

I reckon michael voss can coach but he has stuffed up list management by overating the list and we see him sacked next year is my opinon

I put Voss down as a carp coach and from what i've seen, i stand by it. He may prove me wrong in 10 years time though. We'll see.

Listening to John Reid on 5AA just now it sounds like Brisbane's whole footy department set up was out of date and wrong leaving Voss to do too many things other than coaching (including recruiting ?)

With the raft of off-field changes now made following their internal review we may see Voss' real coaching ability emerge. Well, whatever ability he has should emerge.

It's amazing to think back to when he was appointed and a lot of people claimed he was "born to coach". Now 2 years' later he is right under the pump.
