They need a third key forward as having two didn't get the job done this year.

Only REB could use a thread about Fevola to exhibit his childish obsession with the Hawthorn Football Club.

Geelong couldn't get the job done last year, REB, and haven't got it done this year either.

I think that article is spot on. Some guys drink and become harmless and funny whereas from I saw on the footy show last night Fev becomes a dead set knob when he drinks. Simple...
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

I read where the Crown Casino have taken offence with Fev's antics and have barred him from attending Carlton's presentation night to be held there in the next week or so.

However it would seem the Crown Casino has broken the law by serving alcohol to an intoxicated person. Will they lose their license or be fined???

I sat at home on Monday night tolerating Demetriou's self indulgency and there was no way I could have achieved this sober.
I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. I can't put it down.

Asked if he had a drinking problem, he said: "I think when I drink, I do. Obviously."

Will Carlton have the balls to sack him? Probably not, but the timing is perfect, trade week coming up in a weeks time...

Carlton would be stupid to trade or sack him. They have finally buit a squad to play finals football and they sack the best full forward in the comp cos he got gased at a function....... it hasnt effected his footy so PLAY ON FEV keep up the entertainment on and off the field

Why should they? What's he done that most of us haven't? Channel 9 were happy to stick a mic in his hands, take the publicity and then leave him to hang. Don't they assume any responsibility here?

And as has been correctly pointed out, why isn't the Crown in the poo for serving an obviously drunk patron?

I'm pretty sure I was behaving like that at our club presentations too. Maybe not the league, but definitely at club level.

I would have chosen "you're the voice" to do as my karaoke song though. That's where Fev messed up.

Yep, my heart bleeds for em dedja. Tragic stuff, the life of an AFL footballer.

They get compensated for a life in the spotlight. If they don't like it, then they can get out of the spotlight, pretty simple really.

I'm all for a bloke letting his hair down, but there's no excuse for busting some of the moves Fev did on Monday night. And just cause "we've all done it" (which we haven't by the way), doesn't mean it's okay.

No probs, each to his or her own.

What is it exactly that he's done wrong by the way that warrants him being sacked? Of course he takes some responsibility here, but there are other that aren't or are profiting from him.

LOL, I never said all by the way!

You said most, I'll give you that.

I was being a tad harsh, but I do get sick of footballers at every level using the 'end of season' or 'footy trip' excuse for 'free for all' behaviour. All for blokes having fun, but it's a fine line between fun & fwit.

To be fair the man himself hasn't backed away from his behaviour this week, he's fronted up to it. I agree that it doesn't deserve sacking, but it does deserve heavy sanctions which he has received.

Interesting comment dedja..
Not only have I never done it, but I only ever knew socially and personally one guy, aged 20 at the time, who actually got noticeably drunk in a public place - once.
[That's not counting an alcoholic cousin who died at 48 of Alcoholic Myocarditis - but he and I barely knew each other.]
I was also at a [Ukrainian] party in my student days where a few people I didn't know, quietly and politely passed out, without bothering other people. ;)

I did once, in 1977 I think, wake up one morning and realise I didn't remember driving home.
I hadn't been noticeably drunk according to others who were at the event, but it prompted me to watch the wine waiters better in future.

Don't go sprouting the 'poor AFL footballer' line though because they can always come sit at the desk like most of us and earn $50k a year if they don't like being in the spotlight and having a 'little' extra responsibility.....

That's better, happy with that answer.

Yep, the fella's a fwit and his missus even worse for putting up with it. $-) $-) $-)

He deserves a kick up the Kyber but not sacked.
