I agreed with Geelong not changing their team, I dont care what the Saints do but the way they struggled with contested possessions and inside 50s you'd think they would be looking at changes where Geelong dominated everything in their last game.

I wouldn't mind Stokes getting a run just quietly :)

On the St K front, I can't see Max being included. Was only going to be a slim chance as it was, and now with the weather looking awful you can't bring a tall like him in for an Eddy type.

I rate Armitage, and he could be a replacement for Eddy who seems under the pump.

I hope it buckets down all day, because that will definitely be in our favour. Cats play awesome wet weather football.

Another plus for the Cats with McLaren missing out on the GF. Umpires will be McBurney, Rosebury and Ryan.

Bomber also said that Stokes wanted to pull out of last years GF but bomber convinced him to play

Incorrect. Bomber hasn't said he'll definately play this week, just that he is the mix. I hope they don't pick him.

;) Can't help but think if the weather was fine and dry then Max might have got a run instead of Dempster

Got a funny feeling this game is playing right into Geelongs hands.

Many have made light and some have made note of the Sainters spending most of this year under the roof at the Doom. I know they train in all weather and are a very hard at it team, but the weather forecast for the day suggests a slog. The best part of this is many of the Saints midefield are pretty solid blokes who can match it in and under with the Cats.

I still feel a blow out in the wind, I think the Cats by 55 points.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Geelong by 4 points in a low scoring game.

Norm Smith tip: Travis Varcoe or Corey Enright

(I know that looks from left field, but if the Saints can keep the likes of Ablett, Selwood, Chapman and Bartel relatively quiet, Varcoe looks the sort who can run through the middle in bursts - as he did last week - and finish off up forward with 3-4. In a low scoring game, it may be the difference.
Suspect that the ball will spend a lot of time on the deck with a number of longer shots falling short with wind and conditions, and that sort of thing brings Enright right into calculations)

two options today.....

head says Geelong by 43pts, Selwood Norm Smith

heart says Saints by 11pts, Hayes Norm Smith

i only want the Saints to win as it is good for footy, so far we have had 6 different premiers in as many years since 03 (Brisbane, Sydney, West Coast, Port, Geelong, Hawthorn) and i'd like to see that continued, it shows to me that our game is a fair competition and is running well (draft, trades etc)...

one day we might see Fremantle win a flag!
