He has the runs on the board - great W-L record, 2 GF appearances, 1 premiership.

He is overseeing a second rebuilding of the list and the players seem to be right behind him. The players now need to take responsibility on the field I reckon.

I'm not sure a Hardwick would achieve much greater in the next 2 years with the list as it is. I still maintain it's not a top 4 list like the local media have made out before this season and the last. Consequently, I don't believe they are under-achieving as much as others do. They don't have the depth of quality yet to cover Chad, S Burgoyne, Boak.

Not often I agree with a Crows supporter but that is the most intelligent posting on this topic I have seen.
Good luck to Choco, Port and let's all move on. I reckon we'll see Port at their best in the next 3-4 weeks now all this speculation is finally over

All this talk about runs on the board.

How about these runs - a third double-digit finish in four years. Be lucky to win ten games. Again.

Perhaps the club should dust off its old motto?

But change it a bit to reflect its current dire predicament...

'Living in the past, disconsolate about the future'.

If they were happy with the offer why didn't Choco sign this contract last week & put it to bed? Instead he's trying to get what he's losing ($$) in other incentives. Won't take long & the players after puting up with this contractual bullsh!t for so long will get even more P'd off with this as its a distraction to them.
I bet the Port board are asking questions as to where & whom all this leaked information regarding Choco's contract is coming from, surely a confidentialality agreement comes into play here with the board?
Who was the outsider ( good mate of ????? ) that walked ( unexpectedly) into the 9hr boardroom meeting, what gave him the right to do so or even be there?
I heard this guy knew the outcome of this meeting before Choco did & he also knows" wanker Hutchy" well my source tells me.
There is a MOLE down there at Alberton & i think the club know who this MOLE is.

What are the chances of Williams 2yr coaching job thats been OFFERED to him falling through?
With negotiations still continuing on the $$$ side of things i believe the club aint happy about this saga dragging out as it has, a 25% pay cut has been put to Choco but he's not happy, was he only expecting a mere 5%???
You want to win the supporters over Choco?
Well going about it the way you are expect your supporters will drop off even more.
You may well be moving to Melb sooner than you think.

You honestly believe supporters come and go ( more so go ) because of how a coach handles contract negotiations?

Honestly alot of supporters arn't in favour of Choco continuing at Alberton, if this coaching saga keeps going on & on & on god knows how many more supporters your gonna lose  you can't afford to lose much more, your not making any profits as it is.

I'm sure there's "a lot" of supporters at almost every club that don't fully support the coach. Does that mean that the club should get rid of him? In Choco's case, I'd bet that there a more who want him to stay than those wanting him to leave. Most of those wanting him to leave probably have no idea about the value of retaining an experienced, well respected (by all the players) and hard working PREMIERSHIP coach with one of the best win/loss records in modern coaching history. No Mercy, you have no idea....

Ruben i have know doubt what so ever Williams can coach, i never said he couldn't, his win loss ratio is outstanding BUT this blokes been there for 11 years for 1 flag & for the last 2-3 years instructing a very ugly game plan that the supporters hate & everyone involved in football hate( short negative defensive football ) They didn't win their Grand Final against Brisbane playing that brand of football did they?
You say Ruben he's well respected by all the players, i'm not so sure about that, their not playing like they respect him & i'm sure if players are asked from their mates in private you'll find some answers would be very much like Stewy Dews thoughts on Williams ( not liked ) yet if they are asked by the media they'll be full of praise & support for the man so they don't lose their spot in the team.
Why are Ports crowds down from 30.000+ to under 19,000?
Don't you think it has something to do with the lack of support for this style of football they play which over the years has proven to be non successfull? If this continues Mr Carter this club will be the non existant one not the Port Magpies. You may not like my view Ruben & i may have no idea in your eyes but hey thats my opinion & we're all entitled to one.
