Depends on the charge. Murderers plead guilty to manslaughter and get a 10 years instead of 30.
Even pleading guilty to the actual charge the prosecutors and defenders can agree on a sentence so it does not go to trial and the offender gets a big discount.

There's plenty of judges who are coterie members, can see this getting a near identical result. Happen to be proven wrong though, it was a shit act from a much bigger bloke.
