You want him more. Offer him more money so there is less for Gaff ;)

Would Port look at Billy Hartung as someone to provide bit more zip around the ground?

We have enough blokes in the squad that can't kick a footy as it is

Sounds like someone's entering the danger zone.

If we give Polec a 4th year on the deal I'd say he'll stay, or, the 4 years and money is being put aside for Lycett if he's given Port the nod to proceed.

funny you mention his name a person in a swans supporter page suggested we should give him a life line, he was promptly shut down...

Averaged 17.4 possies this year @ 68.1 % which is well below the league average. Over his career he is @ 75.4% which is well above the league average! His efficiency dropped 8% this year after leaving the Hawks. Doubt it would get much better with us!

Do agree that he probably plays in front of all those players you have mentioned though. Still think Johnson should be given an extended time in the team, I think he goes alright but Ken puts him in for 1-2 weeks then takes him out for a month before bringing him back in

Polec also needs to balance the money (and what part of it is guaranteed/performance based) with respect to the North Deal and the fact he will be playing over half his games on the hardest ground in the AFL.

With his history of navicular/bone stress issues in his foot a move to North may not be that advantageous footy playing wise.

Yes you can modify training to minimise the risk but as Dutchy has pointed out if you don't pay the ferry man (start compromising preparation - either preseason or in-season) performance can suffer especially when you game is based on repeated run and carry
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

How would Port use Lycett? or is it insurance for now and take over when Ryder retires?
