You could be on to something or as others have suggested maybe Ryder had spoken to the swans

Absolute disgraceful by the AFL and so typical of how they operate

I don't see what the big deal is.

If the COLA isn't the reason they're successful, just **** trade. Its the only thing they will lose. They're gonna lose it anyway.

The only ones stopping them from trading are themselves and their desperation to hold onto the COLA for as long as possible.

The teams pretty sturdy now, no need for the COLA anyway.

well for one it throws their planning out of whack - they obviously had to cut a million from their salary cap over the next two years, now they have basically been told they have to do it this year, by losing players. no chance to recontract people on lower deals etc

Can anyone show me where it says anywhere on this universe that the Swans are completely banned from Trading players and or signing free agents?
If someone can post that link I will be more than happy to agree with the sentiments expressed by the Swans and the AFLPA

He'd be mad not to take it. They've added Frawley and young O'Rourke and you blokes lost Malceski. You are going to carry Goodes for a year and Sewell has retired.

Not at all... Following the rules the AFL set down to us is hardly biting the hand that feeds you. Before you bring up Lance, we freed up plenty of space for him... NOT AGAINST THE RULES!!!! The AFL approved the deal!

It's been driven by Eddie for years and has apparently sooked enough and he's got his way...

As i've stated happy for COLA to go, it will be more special when we win a flag within the next couple of years. Don't sanction us or threaten us when you already are taking it away in 2017 anyways.

To say the only reason the swans are where they are at because of COLA is ignorant and down right stupid!!

Keep telling yourself that, he will retire mid season once it becomes clear opposition are exploiting him going the other way. Hopefully Horse is blinded just like you supporters are.
By the way Frawley has a very good record on Lance.
You're 10 goal off the best teams in the comp, think we can "carry" Frawley, hell we carried Spangher, whats one more

Good point about spangher...

I think goodes should have retired too... But his late season form was good... He was one of our best players in the GF... Not blinded by anything. You lot write us off again I have no problem going back under the radar. One sh*t game doesn't define a club.

Frawley's may be good against Lance, but he's a better player now that he's at the swans :D

they basically cop a 1 million dollar fine if they try and trade for players this year or next.

well its actually worse than that, because they would also be over the salary cap

Cant see that happening in my lifetime or your's.
Hawks and Power are on the improve, you're going backwards and you're starting 10 goal behind.
You've won 5 (from 16 or 17) in 100 odd years, not exactly a club culture/history that suggest another premiership is just around the corner
