Thats crap, Freo missed 4 shots from within 35 metres in the 1st 1/4 2 points 2 on the full

They kicked them its a different ball game.

wish people would stop blaming umpires for sides inefficiencies.

Seems of late from Junior Footy to AFL Grand finals a side loses its the umpires fault.

Perhaps we should all get off our fat butts and go out an umpire

Rant over

Rant is right!. That 50 they got in the first was plain bulltish. Even I could have got that one right. Not picking on the Vols that keep the game running at the grass roots but surely the professionals should be able to get it right?

Took a hit to the head early in the game that would not have helped him.
Still, he was far from their worst player.

What upset me was that there seemed to be two totally different rules for holding the ball. Hawthorn players deliberately held the ball in when tackling Fremantle players and were time after time rewarded with a free kick. Whenever Freo did it, it was a bounce that resulted.

Yes wasn't great but far from the worst.

Maybe, but overall Spud status sees Zac win hands down and Lee wasn't as bad as Zac...

Anyone think Lake will get matches?
Walters made a meal of it and tried to milk a 50m but Lake did raise the elbow and deliberately try to clip him.
Reprimand should be more than sufficient but who knows with these clowns in charge of the MRP he will probably get a game.

Well done Hawks, ordinary GF, Freo butchered so many chances and blew a golden opportunity.

Buddy appears to be gone, wonder if Clarkson joins him?

I agree Pearce had a very poor game, he did however take a very courageous mark that stands out in my mind.
I didn't think Pavlich was any value today. I thought his game was very poor the same as many of his team-mates yet, unbelievably they only lost by 15 points???? Says something about the way they play as a team I reckon.

Well done to the Hawks. Ho-hum game devoid of highlights. They made more of their opportunities than the Dockers.

Some quick number crunching indicates that in 4 GF's, Lyon's teams have averaged 62 ppg, with 43% accuracy in front of goal.

Ok here it is, what you've all been waiting for, the "Great Ones" observations from No 11.

There wasn't just the one spud named Zac out there today.
The influence of former Crows and Power players was profound, Burgoyne, Gunston and Pearce all fantastic in the 1st half.
Buddy threw himself around like it was his last game.
Lake a worthy Norm.
Hawks out tackled and out pressured freo.
Rioli the best exponent of the chicken wing tackle, which 99% of the time earns you a free kick for holding the ball. The other 1% earns you a holiday.
You are more likely to get a goal from a free kick if the ball is in your forward 50.
Ross Lyon will never win a flag
If Buddy stays Gunston wins the Coleman
How many games for Suban? Only 2 things worse that that, eye gouging( ala Judd) and faking ( ala Malceski, Walters)
Mitchell a fantastic team game, 7 tackles.
Bailey was good in negating Sandilands influence
Our worst 6 were far better than their worst 6
It was as easy as i predicted it would be, perhaps not in margin but Freo never seriously challenged.
If Buddy goes you's will have to put up with me being right again on this day for another 2 years
