My brother-in-law played soccer against Cornesy a while back.

Said he couldn't play for nuts so they moved him to keeper and he dominated.

No-one scored off corners with him in goal...

Years ago, I heard Studley say that Chad was pretty bitter about his father's treatment/sacking by the Crows.

And that Kane was a bit younger so the affect on him was less profound.

Chad was almost 15 when his father got sacked and Kane 11...

They would be thinking - "he was a reasonable CHF at the Crows, but that year off after leaving Hawthorn really was quite unfortunate".

Cornesy in the main annoys the f**k out me due to his at times arrogant manner and his condesending all mightyness however that interview last night (and his Advertiser piece on Don Lindner a few years back) showed him a compleltely different light and I have a new found respect for him.

I agree with that. It also must've been tough to coach someone who's been jamming it up your missus...

I bet you particularly enjoyed his alst comment before the break with respect to Barrie Robran, "He's the best"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Quite enjoyed last nights interview.

Couldn't believe he a) continued to coach in 85 after that incident and b) continued to select McGuinness (probably the selfishness in me talking there). Would have been mighty tough to do though.

Really enjoyed that ep.

Watch that footage of Studley and Freddie after the '85 GF in a completely different context now.

Talk about the club being bigger than the individual.

He's always been very beleivable, Graham (along with arrogant & condescending at times)
With the Cornes/McGuinness saga erupting during and subsequently threatening to derail the Bays '85 finals campaign, it adds even more cred to their ability to stay focused and win the flag.
Maybe Cornsey had a touch of empathy for Freddie given Graham's past - even though it did involve his wife at the time.

Thoroughly enjoyed that episode.

For some reason I was unaware of the Cornes/McGuinness thing.
Bit of an eye-opener.

Whilst the incident was before my time I knew of it but didn't realise that the cat was out of the bag right before finals

Would love to see an uncut version of some of these Open Mike episodes.
