Ouch. That would have tickled in the morning.

I'd be dead.

I'm hungover thinking about that many beers
I find myself these days (into my late 40s) not physically able to drink enough to get bad hangovers anymore.

Watched the replay last night to make sure I wasn't going mad & Alir was definitely playing on Walker for most of the night. Clurey took 1 contested mark against Walker in the 1st quarter when Alir was caught out of position.
Gives a totally different perspective watching TV coverage v live. We were in the southern pocket behind the goal line so couldn't really see which players were doing what when play was at the northern end. After watching the replay I thought top 5 players in no particular order were Rankine, Thilthorpe, Laird, Rozee, Powell-Pepper & mention for O'Brien & Dixon (that guy is huge). Dawson played well but lucky to get the medal imo.

I haven't watched the replay, had 17 beers on the night and was going from memory but it's good to know you have critics.

Wasn't trying to criticise, only really remember that match up because the wife asked who was standing Tex. I only had 8 beers & 4 cocktails throughout the game

By 5-6 (real) pints, i am all beered out, then i switch to a few bourbon and drys then I'm done. Sleep it off for 10+ hours and wake up like nothing happened.
Took 30 years of practice to get it right

Where I work I “bump into” a number of sports people, just saw Tom Jonas for the first time and didn’t realise how small he is as a key defender. No wonder he can occasionally get monstered.

Himmelberg made me feel small when I stood next to him.

Dixon and Kurt Tippett are probably the 2 biggest I’ve seen in person.

Yep 188cm / 89kg would be considered extremely small for a key position player these days. Numbers based of a quick google search.

Hawkins 198cm / 103kg
Cameron 196cm / 94kg
Ben King 202cm / 96kg
Tom Lynch 199cm /100kg
Buddy Franklin 199cm / 106kg
Daniely McStay 196cm / 87kg
Charlie Curnow 192cm / 96kg
Aaron Naughton 195cm / 93kg

For context Ollie Wines is 187cm / 90kg.......the likes of Cripps, Fyfe, Bontempelli, Oliver are all 190cm.

Apart from a couple Port are a bit of a midget side, the likes of Rozee, Butters, Fantasia, DBJ, Farrell are midgets by AFL standards these days.

Yep, when younger and still at Norwood his instructions from Port were that they needed a physical presence from him, cost him a SANFL suspension or two but he took it onboard. The physical nature of his game looks to have finally caught up with him, but he’s squeezed everything out of that body. At that height, he’d often take opposition forwards small and tall alike, something not many would be able to do as long as he has. Been a favourite of mine since he was a pup at the Parade so I’m biased, but really admire what he’s been able to get out of himself.

Now you've got Timmy G coming out and saying past players don't want the Power wearing the pylons if they are going to play like that in it.
The club works so long and hard to get to wear it, then after one loss (with a 15 minute lapse, in a showdown that is always 50/50) they want to ban them from wearing it.
Such an overreaction.
