Although I am biased as he is a product of the Kenilworth Footy Club a have no surprises with your mentioning of Laird Valleys. He was outstanding and everyone I watched the game with had him in the best 5.

What are people thoughts on the crows singing the song in front of the fans?

Always find it cringe worthy when a club does that. Not a massive deal though.

It means they'll look like idiots if they don't do well this year.

I'm not a fan however it doesn't harm anything. Imagine if you're a kid and you got to sing the song with your hero's. It's a story you could tell for years and you can guarentee that kid will forever support them.

I'm glad as a club from the top we have drawn a line with the bullshit we have put up with for too long. It won't happen this year but its a start. Clubs like West Coast who were once proud are slipping in to a dangerous area that we have put up with for a club who should expect more with its resources. It goes around in circles but I really like Fagan for having an immediate impact. He would have had the major influence on the Sando decision even before the club let it be known he was taking over. You don't succeed @ winning positions such as this by getting the job and starting 4 weeks later. It can sometimes be up to 12 months planning prior to the actual starting date.

Are they going to do it every week? Surely not? Try that sh@t in Melbourne lol.

I was always of the belief it was reserved for Premierships or victories at a higher level. Eg State or Natiional. 8)

They beat Norf at home in Round 1. So has everyone else in the last 5 years.

Initially I legit thought they were doing it to pay tribute to a fan who was sitting there who may have been sick, terminally Ill or perhaps challenged in some way and it was someone's special moment. If that was the case fair play and well done but I have not heard any reports of that. I found the whole situation quite vexing. To be honest the fans around and stadium spectators didn't seem to really jump on board and belt it out in unanimous unison. I think this was an attempt at a marketing ploy to try something and it didn't really hit the spot.

I will be surprised if they do it again

Yeah, that really narrows it down...

All clubs are trying to further enhance "supporter engagement" and this was Adelaides idea, for mine, it didn't really work but after flogging a side by 77 points in round 1 it's hardly cause for major celebrations.

Perhaps a nail biting 2 point win in round 18 to secure a finals berth might be a different thing.

The players certainly looked uneasy doing it. Worth a try, it might take off , it might not.

Like I said, after a 13 goal win nobody gets that excited about singing the song.

sorry mate i was more referring to the original question, not your post...

i flat hate the idea of singing the song on the oval unless you've won a flag. from grass roots to the afl... can't stand it. the little tackers are the exception though

Yeah. It was hilarious when the Eagles pipped Glenelg for top spot on the final day of that season.
