everyone on here will now he's at AFC  ;)

He is overrated, as many people in the media pump him up (as they do almost all players). I think he is a good player and very capable but definately not superstar.

No doubt a certain media flog will declare him Coleman, Brownlow & Norm Smith favourite for season 2014.

Take your pick. It's the Crowvertiser, after all.

Buddy and Kurt have all the money, doesnt leave much for the rest. Would expect some more outs soon, Jed Lamb is another looking to leave and id expect White to go aswell

Probably go to the loins. He'll rack it up there.

Reported number of around $500-550k p.a for Betts from Adelaide, about $450-500k from North.

If Carlton aren't willing to match either offer for a player they know "inside and out"*.....Adelaide and North paying way overs.

Who, at Adelaide, would be on $500k+?

I'd think maybe only Dangerfield, Walker, Sloane, Douglas?

Adelaide have to pay some overs to get anyone of some quality over here IMO
With the average AFL salary to be $300k next year, paying $500k for a small forward who should/would get you 50 goals (they are hoping) is probably $50k over, but it's a need.

Interesting then that Porplyzia and Callinan (?) both get another year on the list?

They should enjoy playing against West and Centrals.

Agreed have to pay overs, but we have the money post Tippet, so no doubt front ended his contract so probably becomes a 350k a year player for the last 2 of the 4 year contract.

I was hoping Callinan would get delisted (in fact, I thought he would) so that he could play for us again.
However, I'm pretty certain there'd have been some sort of coaching position with the ressies side available for him had he been delisted.

Nope

However, small forwards have to do a lot more than most to be rated by people. I think we expect a lot more of them.

As a Hawk, I dont want Pods. Longer would be a nice get, although Grimley and Lowden are both looking OK in Box Hill for more senior time next year.

Dale Thomas (Carlton arent over the line just yet) or Col Sylvia would be handy, and a 1-2 year deal for Chappy would be OK 8)

Particularly Chaoppy or Sylvia as they both tear us a new one frequently...pretty sure Chappy would pass playing for the Hawks though...

Yep small FWDs who dont spend time in the midfield are either in the game or have no impact.

Regardless of what he is getting paid, he would be in most teams starting 22. Proven goal scorer who can kick 50+ goals a season. A win for the Crows in my eyes even if he is getting paid overs.

You would think Callinan's AFL career has come to end with this recruitment.

Think the real value with Betts will be when he plays alongside tex. Interesting to see Tim Watson agree with this pov but dermy discard it on SEN this morning. Very happy to get Betts and the leave the rest of the tippett money for danger, sloane and crouch later on
