Swans are rorting it at the moment because they are using the extra money to spend on 1 or 2 players. The idea of their salary relief if that every player gets a bit more.
Maybe the AFL should just pay every player on the Swans list a 10% bonus at seasons end rather than give the club a 10% cap increase

The allowance is spread around the whole list. The Swans publicly mentioned this after Eddie Maguire's 6 monthly whinge.

I'm hear to inform.

I'd also be happy if Perth and Melbourne teams got a little extra in their salary cap also. Although it is balanced by the extra media and sponsorship payments these players.

If thats true then fair enough, as long as all players are getting the allowance

I don't believe that's the case but don't know for sure. According to Nathan Burke in Inside Football, it isn't .

And Adelaide based sides should get extra because there are limited business opportunities outside football. And Brisbane prices have shot up as well so let's have an increase all round, but I'm sure the Swans - and the AFL don't want that. Sydney are the AFLs pet team designed to lead the fight against the NRL in the most fickle and lucrative market in the country. Your draw is so soft it would make even Eddie Maguire blush.

I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't make it so bloody obvious.

REB, I thought there was an immediate transition straight from football into 5AA or MMM?
