Free agency is great, but before that time players should be traded without their consent too, as long as their contract requirements are met

100% agree
The players have ALL the benefits of free agency
Need to implement the full model

Didn't he have a major hand in getting Voss sacked and they dislike each other?
Time heals all wounds perhaps

One of those wanky twitter whisper pages reckons Carlton have sent SOS and Judd to visit him.

agree on this - I really hate how FA is at 8 years yet a player can "nominate" his club of choice and then its up to the clubs to get that deal done.

Lever will come out and say he wants Melbourne because of big coin, he is a third year player. If he wants back to Melbourne then the Crows should be able to trade him to any club that gives them the best offer. He then negotiates his contract terms with them.

daysofourlives wrote:Why wouldnt you trade Sloane now, youll get picks 7 and 8. You keep him 12 months and lose him as a free agent youll get pick 19 for him if you were to win the flag next year. Or if he does the right thing and demands a trade from his new club the best you can hope for is a Dangerfield type deal, pick 10ish and some steak knives

agreed - in all seriousness if St Kilda are really offering up picks 7 and 8 for him today, I would rip their arms off. He will be 28 next season and best we could hope is an extension of 3 years in the year he turns 29. He may want to go back to Vic then anyway and we get stuff all for him. His inability this season to break the tag has dropped his value IMO - when he was left to run he was awesome but as soon as the hard tag put on he really struggled and if anyone was going to work hard enough to break it it is Sloane - I am not convinced he will ever be able to

Surely he wouldn't go??? If so it would be because of his wife's media work?

with the price they're rumoured to be paying him suggests they rate him very, very highly... lets see if they rate him as highly when it comes to striking a trade.
