AFL Finals Week 2

Talk on the national game

The term "choke" gets thrown around far too often. The Hawks limped into the finals, threw everything at he premiership favourites and come final siren still could have won. They were cooked by last night and simply outplayed, no choke Imho

Are you saying you would happily have an 18 year premiership drought just so you don't choke once but yeah sorry your sledges were some of the wittiest adult humour I've ever read

I do remember one classic choke though

Perhaps stick to knitting and flares :D

Not sure about knitting but it's more like flares, destroying opposition supporters property, bashing opposition supporters, destroying the stadium, looting stores and then driving your car home to my 12 kids and wife with no teeth. Ahh the serenity!

Exactly the Hawks had created one of the best dynasties in AFL history in an era where dynasties were not meant to survive, they choose to take the path of recruiting mature aged very good players in the hope of a sneaky extra premiership, they probably got that last year.

By their own admission they were far from being a standout top side this season and have come up against two sides with extra pace and hunger that tested them and eventually out lasted them.

The Hawks have far too much talent to completely fall out the 8 next season but will most likely begin a rebuilding stage where I think they will look to copy Geelongs lead

History will definitely remember the Hawks for the three peat rather than finishing top and going out in straight sets

Yeah, I don't think footy people get choke right.

Choking is 3 putting on the 18th and blowing a 2 shot lead. Choking isn't a 7 on the 14th when you're 2 behind the leader.
PAFC. Forever.

I hate Hawthorn but you can't class that as a choke. Dogs are a very good side! I would class some of the comments on here condescending dribble though. I doubt any Hawthorn supporter could care less about what a Crows supporter has to say ! Itd be even more embarrassing than a West fan mocking a Central fan and that's saying something!
Hawthorns seasons replicated Geelongs from about 4 years ago, lots of close wins which inflated their ladder spot , a close loss in a final then out in straight sets. At least there's wasn't to Freo like ours was!

MW - Wouldnt have thought losing the QF by a kick constitutes as choking. I enjoyed last night as much as most of us but its not a choke - the biggest choke this year was the crows missing out on a top 2 spot.

Still in it though, should be a cracking game tonight

Yes sadly we will need the next crop to come through now. Hats off to the Cats in the way they have done that so well.

Well put there Benny... Good to see a "19th man" put into into some kind of perspective. I still think the crows are a quality mid fielder or 2 short to win it. But you're still in with a shot tonight. May the best team win.... With many injuries & reports!

Yeah just don't understand Sydney people. 4 million in the City and the Swans are always around the mark and play a good brand of footy
