Richmond have too many plodders and few stars, Cotchin is massively over rated

Cotchin is ok
Martin is the one who is way over rated, has he ever had a good game in a big game?

Well played by the Blues, better team on the day! Judd although clearly restricted sparked them into action, Bryce Gibbs flogged us and Waite very dangerous and had a field day. When the going got tough we had far too many players go missing, why Foley got dropped ill never know?

Richmond appeared to lack leadership yesterday, no one stepped up when required.

They also appear to be obsessed with not kicking it to Jack and making him play as a decoy. Which would be fine if it wasnt Vickery or Edwards that they then directed the ball through.

There is no way Jack was fit. He looked less mobile than Hawkins does at the moment!

How impressive was big Ivan's flowing mullet in super-slow motion as he celebrated that goal? Fantastic stuff.

Riewoldt was fit three weeks ago when Jamieson toweled him up. Tries to do too much bodying, plays into Jamieson's hands. Needed to get on the move more. He may have been hampered a little yesterday but his thought process was the wrong one anyway.

Similar thinking with Foley, have no idea why he wasn't picked. Petterd is a dead-set spud and shouldn't be in our best 22, or 25. I'd have Batchelor, Dea etc before him.

26 possessions & 2 goals whilst being tagged hardly over rated in my books.

Foley should have been picked perfect finals type player. We were smashed in the clearances which is his strong point. Conca going off hurt us more than we realised I reckon too, he is a good young player.

Their rucks had the better of big Ivan his 2 goals made his game look better than it was.

Stevie Morris got a real touch up too.

On a positive young Vlaus looks a star of the future, I liked his composure in a big game for a first year player.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

So glad Chaplin left, Richmond should have invested their money elsewhere.

Chaplin, Pettard, Edwards, Maric, Houli, Grigg.

There are 6 blokes who were, at best, mid-range players in mid-range sides before joining Richmond. Now was the side mid-range because of the players, or were the players mentioned mid-range because of the teams they were in? Either way, there is half a dozen blokes who wont be in a team going deep into the finals anytime soon.

Perhaps Richmond thought their core group was better than it actually is and figured they only needed a few top-ups here and there.

It didn't / hasn't worked so far.

Harsh on Houli & Maric both have improved a huge amount since joining the tigers.

Maric would be the same player given the same opportunity at Adelaide. Houli wasn't even a first pick player at Essendon, so of course he must be better. He's getting a game! :D

Serious question - can Port give Geelong a shake this Friday night?

Also must say i had a chuckle when Richmond lost, thinking back to Chaplin declaring he wanted to move on to play finals and now he gets to sit back and watch Port this Friday
