I think it's good that the field umpires consult with others on contentious decisions, but I didn't really see any reason for the goal umpire to be over-ruled.

At the end of the day though, I reckon the right decision was made .. Didnt look to me like he touched it and the Freo player's body language suggested he knew he was just trying it on.

I dont mind them conferring (which has happened before) so long as they arrive at the correct decision, which I think they did on this occasion - Albeit perhaps by incorrect means - It's hard to see how they could have taken the Boundary umps call over the goal umps.
