Why does a player, who is out of contact, need to request a trade?

not a free agent so unless Crows delist him, needs to be traded

Yep, clubs know if their players have interest from other clubs. The Crows intention may well be to delist Frampton but they should try and get something in return before making the cut.

Doesn’t everyone think no matter who is leaving is worth a first found selection?

First round of the mid season draft if we are lucky

Might not be worth the first round of beers at the pub.

The system is broken when Frampton gets drafted in the first place

However, I 'spose he showed [someone] his way

To Billy's defence, he was very handy when they defeated Richmond and the Bulldogs, he's no Ian Downsborough but he has been serviceable this season, I'm not sure that he'll get much game time at Collingwood though.

Billy reminds me of Downsborough and Brett Chalmers.
Not sure if it’s coz he’s a similar size, played at port and crows or is just crap like them(at AFL level).

I don't think it works that way.

Sure does.

That is how Greenwood went to North. Also any player that has previously been on a list (so not under contract ) can be picked up. Brooksby to Hawthorn as an example.
