Buckley issued a long and detailed letter on Saturday regarding the clubs position which in a financial sense is terrific.

Adelaide and North in great financial positions. I bet the supporters are thrilled.
Someone has to be bottom
If you can remain financially secure whilst at the bottom it should bode well for when you are back competing for a finals berth surely?
There will be side/s cut or moved in the next 5-10 years and being financially secure might prevent that happening.

It's cheaper, I remember back in the day we used to get $100 per win per player.

It's sad for Shaw and his family, to a lesser extent the football club as after all, it's only football.

What it does show that as an industry and as a society we are beginning to better understand, show more empathy and normalize discussing mental health. We are moving forward. It is ok to not be ok.

Yet some people still get pilloried too excessively (Tex for example). We’ve come a long way which is fantastic, not completely there yet though.

I don't know what's happened and I'd prefer not to know what has happened, obviously very personal and I wish the media would respect that, if he chooses to make a public announcement down the track, let him, leave him alone otherwise.

There almost needs to be a law in this day and age where someone with a public profile can 'waiver' the media's rights to report on them so they can get some space. Unless of course there is a legal issue which then genuinely makes it news.

I know the media should have the moral fortitude to not do it but sadly they are just reporting what the public wants and the even more sadly the general public love a 'high profile breakdown story' If we as a society can change then we can impact what the media will and will not report.

Have North considered appointing Dani Laidley as coach next year? Could be the first female to coach an AFL team.

With Voss pulling out of contention for the job(I assume they said thanks, but no thanks), who is the front runner?
Is it David Noble?
Who’s on the list?
