Dan Houston owes him a beer.

If this is the end result of a number of failings on Rachele behalf, what are the leaders at the club doing?
They all carry some responsibility.

I think he's goneski.
And Nick's will be gone in 12months

I feel like it's a real sliding doors moment for both.
I'd rather keep Rachele than Nicks and I'm not the biggest critic of Nicks.

My biggest frustration of 2024 is our selection table and the inability to trust promoting the kids, which has come at the cost of the overall development of the group.

Soligo needed to play more midfield time earlier.

Dowling, Bond, Taylor needed blooding sooner.

Curtin was held back far too long.

Thing is, if we recruit with some guile, we can absolutely be contenders in 2025.

Priority is midfield quality as we're a bit pedestrian by foot in there with Berry, Crouch and Laird.

Love the backline of Worrell, Murray, Michalanney, Hinge, Bond and Keane.

Forward line of Fog, Thilthorpe, Rankine and Rachele is strong with Tex playing support.

Two good recruits would make a hell of a difference.

With everything that has gone on, including standard injuries and a lack of midfield depth, I honestly don't think we're far off and at half time on Saturday night, you'd have been crapping your dacks too.

Of the top 8 sides, Sydney (and now Hawthorn) are the only two teams we haven't beaten or got within a kick of this season, plus close losses to Collingwood, Essendon and the Suns.

Should have played finals in 2023 but for a howler of a goal umpiring blunder.

It's easy to get wrapped up in the doom and gloom, particularly with preseason expectation, but it can turn around quickly with the right changes.

Emphasis on the RIGHT changes.

I was actually pretty comfortable Sat night, thought we had taken control of the game until Jones went off for his concussion test after the tunnelling incident in which the Crows were able to kick 2 or 3 quick ones. Outside of that period, thought we controlled the game pretty well without executing up forward

The Crows will get a good draw next yr due to their finishing postion sho can see them challenging/making finals but I can't see them being anywhere near the top 4-6 teams. They need to re-invent their entire midfield first & foremost. Until that midfield is majorily upgraded, they won't challenge the top teams on a consistent basis

The list is in a very tricky spot. Midfield needs to be upgraded ASAP & their forward line probably has 12 months before it becomes an issue. Tex has 1 yr left & then they need to make a decision with ROB which impacts the role that Thilthorpe plays. Can see in 12 months he is #1 ruck, Tex is done & then it's only Fogarty as a key fwd (ANB & possibly Luko added as a link up helps but doesn't solve their core issues of key forwards that can take control of a game).

He gives them good coverage in many areas of the ground.

Seeing him this year is a nice window into what the future holds.

Pretty confident in the forward mix of Fog, Thilthorpe, Rankine, Rachele and Keays with a better pressure forward than Murphy or McHenry.

Not sure of the scrutiny around O'Brien, just does what he needs to do as a ruck. The importance of an elite ruck in premiership success is significantly overrated as outlined by the below list of premiership ruckmen.

2023 - Cox and Cameron (not elite)
2022 - Stanley and Blicavs (not elite)
2021 - Gawn (elite)
2020 - Nank, Lynch, Balta (not elite)
2019 - Nank and Soldo (not elite)
2018 - Lycett and Vardy (not elite)
2017 - Nank and Grigg (not elite)
2016 - Roughead, Boyd, Cordy (not elite)
2015 - Hale, McEvoy (not elite)
2014 - Hale, McEvoy (not elite)
2013 - Bailey, Hale (not elite)
2012 - Mumford, Pyke (not elite)

It's whatever is below O'Brien that concerns me as I'm not sold on Strachan at all, and at 28, he's a year younger than O'Brien.

Not sure the Kean walk out is just a rumour.

Sadly for my personal interests i believe it is true and St Kilda are the front runners, a trade which includes Jack Hayes is extremely likely which is why he has been given a game this week by the saints to showcase his fitness to the Crows.

Crows would want a fair bit more than Hayes in that trade

-Coaches drop him (probably performance based)
-An experienced teammate comes out and talks about it not aligning with the way the club wants to play football

Those two things say more than enough. You don't often see teammates coming out and giving one their own a little slap on the wrist in the media, most of the time what they say is only an tenth of what they really feel, its always softened down for media purposes.

The next step is what character Rachele has, does he take the hard road and some how try and find a balance and earn his spot back in the side. Or does he take the easy road and hate everything about Adelaide/SA and look for a trade back home.

Being dropped isn't because of performance.
The experienced teammate plays like a robot and has personality of a dead scarecrow.

Says more about player management and coaching.
If what he said doesn't align with the club, then clearly the club did a poor job in detailing what they want from the squad.

That robot has played at an elite consistent level for 12 years so no idea what relevance that has.
Or the third scenario.
He was told not to act a certain way but the petulant immature twat did it anyway.
That's my take on it.
