He'll be our highest paid player, if he left he might get $900k, he'll be over $800k with us.

Why does Kane Cornes have it in for him?

Hang on, I thought Kane was staunchly pro-Port and anti-Crows.

Not sure he hates Wines, just said Port should give him a 2 week ultimatum to sign or stop negotiating until the season ends

He's just never rated him as an elite mid

Is Wines elite? I'd say he is. He's averaged over 26 disposals, 6 clearances, 5 tackles and 13 contested possessions for 3 years now. Prior to that he had 2 seasons of 24+, 5, 5 and 11. That's 5 years over 24 touches, 5 clearances and 5 tackles on average. That's elite numbers in my book and he's not yet 24 with several years of his best footy ahead of him. He's elite with the only question mark over his disposal efficiency at times, but his job is to be in and under when efficiency is going to be harder to maintain.

Which is my point. Why does Cornes not rate him...

I can spot at least 10 players on that list that Wines would shit all over in many facets.

yep 28th best mid seems about right to me

I cant see anyone on that list ahead of him that I think is a worse player. (not taking age into account)

The rating of Wines as 28th when it comes to midfielders rankings was updated two days ago.

He's the 20th ranked midfielder, the 28th (equal) over all.

Debatable.
