Mark Keane and Sam DeKonning both reported for tripping. Both charges identical as per the grading scale, but

Keane copped a $10,000 fine ($6,250 early plea) for his action, which was graded as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.

Similarly, Geelong's Sam De Koning was sanctioned for the exact same act against Essendon's Andrew McGrath.

De Koning's fine wasn't as severe, copping a $3,000 ($2,000 early plea) as a penalty after the Match Review Officer (MRO) determined the same grading.

It’s still the VFL.

It was Keane's fourth tripping offence and De Konings first is why.

If it’s his 4th offence, he should get a weeks holiday and a fine. Clearly the message isn’t getting through. And I’m a Crows fan. Tripping is a Really lazy and sloppy offence and there is no need for it.

Without knowing why he does it maybe it’s a Gaelic thing? He’s already been suspended in the past for it.
Either way it’s dangerous

Tripping someone intentionally is a putrid act, I cracked a team mate on the nose at training one night for doing it to me thinking it was funny while running behind me doing laps, ankles are fragile, once they go once they are prone forever, both of mine are double the size that they should be.

It’s an obvious ploy by St Kilda to lull the geniuses on the Port Board to renege on the Kirribilli agreement and re-appoint Hinkley for 5 more years.

Just watched my first minutes of AFL football for 2025, the third quarter of the port v saints game.

Please tell me that is not the expected standard for this year.
