You f**king beauty. So glad he's won this, athletic ruckman like him don't grow on trees and really happy the AFL recruiters agree by selecting him.

Makes sense for him to go to Brisbane because he lives there already.

Think the best chance for him to get a game would be with the lions.

Lions or Port would be ideal suitors, given their lack of talls.

Doesnt matter now he's chosen Brisbane but I wouldve thought GWS wouldnt be a bad pick for a ruckman.
If Lobbe goes home, Mumford gets injured or suspended who is next in line?
Its the one area GWS is deficient in hence their interest in him

I rate Archie Smith at Brisbane so he's already 3rd in line there

More a forward who can pinch hit in the ruck, IMO.

Terrific athleticism, so could find himself alongside Schache whilst he develops.

See I disagree, always been a ruckman first who occasionally goes forward.

Looks like he has improved his work up forward and I remember him saying that's one thing he wanted to improve. Junior footy at Seaton he used to kill us back then, had a pretty decent midfield around him too. Senior footy at North Haven he played in the ruck never really playing forward from memory. He was our best player in those years (2009-2011). I remember our coach playing him on the wing a couple of times but that didn't really work. I believe when he was at Paskerville for those couple of years he played at CHF. I remember playing school rugby with him aswell, good times.

Sorry mate, should have been more specific.

At lower levels, absolutely. At the top flight I don't think he would be a first string ruckman, given his only real opportunity to use his athleticism would be at centre bounces. Around the ground stoppages and boundary throw-ins he would get monstered for strength.

Forward gives him the ability to beat his opponent for pace and reach.

Oh ok yes I can agree with that.

I'm just really interested to see how he goes with it now, hope he can stick with it. It helps that he's already set up and living in Brisbane so he won't have to adjust too much.
