Great effort by Matty & the boys today, not bad for a side that has a poo game plan & coach hey you fickle ones!
Collingwood definately won't play finals they are going backwards at present, where as the Bombers are definately playing some great football ( sticking with there gameplan ) & i can see them scraping into the 8.
Interesting to see the game plan alot of people were canning earlier is actually winning games now, you don't think the losses the Bombers had were due to alot of injured experience players & fielding alot of inexperienced players to cover?
I will give credit where its due & i think those that have stuck by their side & believed in the players & coach are now being rewarded, Matthew Knights keep up the good work, BELIEF then REWARD comes to those that persist.

Knights totally out coached Malthouse today by a long long way, interesting game plan but a very innovative one, may well try it with the side I coach, reckon it has huge merits, for those that havent worked it out, sit down and watch the game, Essendon do something that no other side in the AFL or the SANFL for that matter do  Well dome Matty Kinights and his coaching staff

I'm watching the replay, and I think you are pointing to that they don't fart around with the handballs, just kick it out of there.

Bombers have come along way this year IMHO (I thought they were in for a much bigger fall) and Knights has done an exceptional job (again IMHO only), how do/did Bombers fans feel a) when he was first appointed and b) now?

Off-field I think he's also been a very good ambassador for the club and it almost seems as though the Bombers have slipped from the media spotlight this year and taken a "quietly quietly" approach to rebuilding.

The Knights era will no doubt also get judged by many on their future drafting/recruiting, (which in some cases might prove to be unfair as blokes like Lloyd, Lucas and Fletcher don't fall off tree's).

Agree, CP, I think they would have exceeded their own expectations for this season, just want to show now that they are now on the continued path to the top

Too early to call, the jury is still out.

Much better year than I anticipated, he still needs to prove himself, and they need to recruit wiesly, not much depth at Windy Hill ATM.

Have to agree with what Ian has said.

Still a long way to go before I can say it was the right decision to appoint Matthew Knights.

Heard a whisper Jason Torney may be joining Knights on the coaching panel in the not too distant future...
