Normally the reported profits include grants/hand outs/assistance payments (whatever you want to call them).

That said, this is common for all clubs which all receive handouts to some level.

Also, it shows the benefit of selling the games to Tasmania which was a smart decision.

I can't find the actual report to check this. A great result nonetheless.

yes a great result
they did put into the financials the fact that we recieve a grant like alot of the clubs but they did also do alot better from memberships and tassie
the fact that we only pay 95% of our salary allowance and we are still in the bottom three for football department spends and we increased our turn over all helped get a good result
but like all clubs the bottom line is you play exciting footy and people will sit up and take notice,go to games and buy memberships
i believe the fact we had a soft draw last season and got to win a few games helped
the big test will be this year with a harder draw and opposition teams focusing alot more on us
ceo position still a problem but vale is doing a great job at the moment
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

AN AMERICAN basketball hopeful who had never heard of AFL before this year could join the Kangaroos next week.

Eric Wallace is three days into a 10-day trial with North Melbourne in the hope of being listed as an international rookie.

Wallace is 197cm and 105kg and impressed scouts with his athleticism at the draft camp in October, finishing fourth in the vertical leap and top 10 in the sprint.

He returned home to Seattle unsure of his future but received a call from the Roos last week.

"I had a call on Wednesday asking if I could come back out. I got on the plane on Friday morning and got to Australia on Sunday," Wallace told the Kangaroos website.

"It’s a two-day travel but it’s worth it when you look at the opportunity.”

The bloke is a huge unit. Will need to get the fitness levels up considerably and obviously improve the skills, but there is no doubting his athletic potential. Saw footage of him yesterday on NMFC website and he is extremely strong and very versatile. His leap is amazing!
