Does anyone else think that one of Hawthorn or Sydney can still make the finals this year.

I'm a little surprised by the responses, as I was thinking it would be Hawthorn are more a chance than Sydney.

I think Sydney are certainties to make the 8, Richmond will drop out, i even give them a chance to sneak top 4 if the comp continues to be so even, 14/15 wins may get you 4th. Hawks wont win 10 games

I support Marc Murphy here, I'm a pretty full on sledger in cricket and used to get in the opponents head on the footy field but there's certain boundaries that need to be be kept within.

Back in the day if you crossed the line with sledging, it got physical and if you had a big mouth you would need to handle yourself. Now christ ever big mouth is protected. Cant "square up" anymore.

Carey has no right to comment on anyone's moral turpitude, I fail to see how any media companies would want to employ him.

I completely disagree. Carey doesn't shy away from any of his failings, even last year when Anthony Stevens raised his head and the whole story became a fresh wound. Carey stood up, took it on the chin and didn't for one minute walk away from what he had done. I think he does his best to commentate on the game itself and not on personal behaviours. I understand people will judge him if he does speak about off field issues, but he has to be given some credit for doing his best to right his wrongs. I admire him, somewhat, for that.

Footnote - Sledging on field is part of the game and what Carey does his best to commentate on, give opinion on, as he's paid to do.

Tough one. Im fairly ambivalent, but do agree with 2nd chances. Can't disagree however with those that take severe umbrage toward his incidences of assaulting women. In terms of football commentating, on the odd occasions I've heard him in game, he clearly see's the game better than most.
