Because the winner of Port/Richmond play next Saturday night. North play Geelong Friday night so all sides get a 6 day break

That's why they never structure the final round of the year. Port played in Perth so that side will always get a least a 7 day break.

Glad to see our blokes show some character and come from nearly 6 goals down in the 3rd qtr. We had plenty of the ball up until then but chose dumb options & played into Essendon's hands too many times. The turning point was when we started winning the clearances and going through the middle - when North do this they look unstoppable.
Dal Santo was one of few who stood out in the first half when things looked grim, he is clearly worth the price we paid (proving my pre season thoughts wrong).
Cunnington, Gibson & Greenwood started getting hold of the ball, Brown was mighty in the 3rd qtr and our backline created run after run resulting in plenty of forward entries.
The Greenwood report was farcical, plain wrong & will be thrown out - HE should've received the free - I look forward to the explanation for that stuff up.
Thomas whilst quiet still kicked 3 (and should have had 3 BLATANT frees paid in the first half which were ignored - which will no doubt please the knockers).
Petrie had been quiet but stood up when it counted with couple of clutch goals when the game needed someone to win it.
But for mine, Daniel Wells was best on ground. He was every where. His disposal is first class & he chooses the right option time after time. His absence for most of the season can't be underestimated.

So the Cats next week, a team who've beaten us twice this year easily. Another test on the big stage. Boomer back will help.

Wow, simply Wow, Power.
Other observations: Best quarter of umpiring in the AFL I've seen for a long long time, couldn't pick one mistake either way, and why the hell would Richmond kick against the breeze????
