It amazes me that people still think Butcher can improve on his kicking - What do you think he has been doing for the last 4 years? If he can't kick by now he is never going to be able to kick.

Time for Butcher to get the chop ;)

If you can't kick by the time your 20, you never will. Can't think of one player who got better over time. Irish and Canadians don't count.

Reckon Stewy Loewe got better (but was still pretty hit and miss) in his later years

Cameron Mooney? Mind you, how we can mention Butcher in the same sentence as Mooney and Loewe is beyond me. I reckon Ian Downsborough was a better player

Not hard even a cardboard cut out would impact a game more than Butcher

Cardboard cut out could at least give you a nasty paper cut.

Warren Tredrea was a fairly unreliable kick for goal when he started, but with a heap of work and practice he changed to become fairly accurate in front of goal with his set-shots.

Ollie Wines and Cameron O'Shea sign on until the end of season 2016.

Justin Westhoff and Jasper Pittard sign until the end of season 2017.

Great news PAFC!

Whats going on there? I know its only a trial, but the Saints are terrible - Ports rest a heap of players that quarter?

Sounds like a sluggish start JK- port rested Gray but he is the only notable omission. Hartlett spent a majority of the first half across half forward which is an interesting move- Lobbe was forward a lot too with Renoif rucking, perhaps trialling 2 ruckmen for round 1?

Would make sense bud, this is the time to experiment. Thought Port seconds might have rolled the Saints so was surprised at the scoreline lol

I thought Port struggled a bit to work their mid field set ups and wouldn't have been thrilled about how they played, but the Saints really aren't that bad. Richo is no fool and with some good players to come back into their team I think they'll surprise a few teams that might think they are going to be the easybeats of the AFL.
For Port, Butcher showed some good signs and Impley was very impressive for a new kid.

Mr Carter they might have gone all right today but they are horseshit. If they win a game interstate this year I'll buy a Hawthorn membership for my Cat.

Port wouldn't be happy with that performance so close to round. Only 1 win this pre season
