Yes. Funny how you said I was overreacting. Compared to my 2011 and 2009 rants I thought I was pretty resrained by comparision. 8)

If Geelong have earnt a home final it's only fair that it's played at Simonds.

What I don't like is double standards. You can bet that there'll only be a final held there if Geelong's opponent is an interstate club. If Fremantle have to play a final there then the same should apply to Collingwood, Hawthorn (insert any big Melbourne-based club). The criteria should be home ground advantage, not maximising revenue or stitching up an interstate club.

If its to maximise revenue and attendance it should be played in Perth.
I think Geelong should be playing at the MCG against Freo if it falls that way.
The lowest ranked team should be shunted off to Ethiad. But that won't happen cos the AFL won't want to upset Eddie so Skilled is the easy option

No way should it be played in Perth. Geelong has earnt the right to play a home final. Our home ground is Simmonds Stadium we should play home finals there. Geelong is not Melbourne and Nor will it be. If we can play it at home I am all for it even the Dimmo is considering it.

Didn't say it should be played in Perth but if it was about maximising attendance it should be. That is the reason they give for giving Coll and Rich preference at the MCG.
Geel should have preference at G for finishing higher.

You can't have your cake and eat it too, if you want to play the big clubs at the G during the minor round as your home game you can't expect finals at Geelong when it suits you.
If Hawks were in same position i would expect to travel to Perth before the AFL would put us in Tasmania based on crowds.

No problem with the Cats playing a home final but they cant pick and choose and they should play all their home games there.

umm I think you will find we would love to play the big clubs at Simmonds stadium, but they would all have trouble in getting to the ground as they wouldn't know where it is

I would think 1 if not both games would be at Etihad.
If not Geelong v Sydney at MCG, Swans wont get sent to Simmonds

It should be the Collingwood/ Richmond vs port final at etihad.
Eddie said on fox footy tonight that you earn a home state final not a home stadium final and you shouldn't winge where you play.
It would be funny too see what he said if Collingwood go told that they're playing under the roof

But Andy only worries about crowd numbers.
Hawks v Freo 45-50k absolute tops
Geelong v Swans 60-65k possibly more.
Swans have a decent following in Melbourne.
Will be an easy decision for Andy

As you were anyway boys, Hawks will win this by 6 goal yet.
Even if they do win the 6th team should be at Ethiad, dont care who it is
