Not seen the Crows last 4 games so can't comment re Sloane of late. Certainly started the season very well. Mitchell lots of it, doesn't always hurt the opposition with it IMO.

I disagree with your Mitchell comments, he's the extractor who gives your runners a chance to get going.

Averaging 36 touches, 6 marks and 7 tackles a game and runs at 70% D/E. He has to be in there.

Tuohy and Hibberd across half back the two biggest "ins" for sides so far as small defenders go in 2017.

My side at the moment (Tried to pick by possie rather than chucking as many midfielders in as possible. Also why i went with Roberton on the bench -

B: Tuohy, Rance, Howe
HB: Yeo, Hurley, Docherty
C: Kelly, Dangerfield, Ebert
HF: Walters, Franklin, Gray
F: Betts, Daniher, Cameron
R: Ryder, Kennedy, Martin
I/C - Gaff, Bontempelli, Mitchell, Roberton

Unlucky - Sloane, Walker, Pendles, Merret, Williams, McDonald, Hibbered, Wingard, Kennedy, McGovern, Dahlhaus, Kreuzer

Port- Ryder & R.Gray (I suspect Gray will only make the 40).

Gray would have to be right in contention - 7th in goals (equal 3rd), 1st in goal assists, averages more contested possessions than other FP types and more disposals than most.

Had him on my list. Could probably put him in front of Pendles & Sloane. Too many midfielders!! But i would say you are correct and he would fall into that next bracket of players that are just missing out

I agree, Gray is up to his eyeballs in contention. You're right, I underestimated his stats. For him to be a monty selection on field, he will need to finish in the vicinity of 55 goals.

Docherty, Yeo and Laird are absolute monty's for selection. Take your pick on the 4th small/medium defender. I wouldn't whinge with Howe or Tuohy- both have had fantastic seasons.

Another one i had just missing out! Couldn't fit them all onto the unlucky list of mine! Just like the big improvers in the back half this year

Yeah right, that surprises me. Just seems like Betts sets up so many.

Don't get me wrong, the bloke knows how to get the knacker, which is better than not getting it. There seems to be lots of little give off's not always to an outside runner. Like to see him hurt a bit more at times. Plus if he is giving to either Hartung or Duryea they ain't gonna hurt anyone!
