Mid-Season Trading 2017?

Talk on the national game

Love how people are using hypothetical negatives for a club as an argument against this. Perhaps those people are overlooking the fact that a trade still requires both clubs and the player to approve. I'm fairly confident a professional AFL club would be far better positioned to consider the potential drawbacks of a trade than any of us.

The ONLY issue here is the impact on state leagues IF that became an option. Which of course isn't what the AFL are talking about just yet.

I'm all for it if state leagues aren't touched and the moves a permanent not loans.
Think the trades should be for picks only, no swapping of players. Obviously a lot of murkiness around taking on a contracted player, cap space etc.
I can see mid season trading going ahead next year and eventually lists being trimmed that way the players can get paid more without massive cap increases

Who would port offer for daw?

Butcher?
Westoff? :)

North would want someone to slot straight into their team straight away too?

North would have to stick to westoffs 5 year contract?

I can just imagine the roars of laughter if Port went to them with an offer of Butcher for Daw.

I reckon west coast would like to trade back Jetta for Sinclair mid season.
