A few years ago they had Temper Trap and I thought they finally might be moving towards having at least some half interesting bands, but the last few years have just completely blown that out of the water.

if you are going to go for washed up has been bands, you may as well rollout Jet or Powderfinger, at least they are aussie.

Yet again we get washed up overseas acts no one has cared about for years or some overseas pop star that almost completely misses the footy watching demographic.

There'd be Aussie bands/acts lining up to play for free (or relatively nothing) just for the exposure, that would put in 1000x the performance we are gonna get again this year.

I hate few songs more than I hate "Summer of '69". I just can't stand it. Now it's going to be the last thing we hear before the biggest Saturday afternoon of the year.

I can just picture the excitement of when he sings "Everything I do", the atmosphere will be electric.

Not everyone going is young .. Would be good if they are having multiple acts though, to have them all spanning different generations so there's something there for everyone.

You know what, though, I reckon most footballers/sportspeople are pretty conservative when it comes to music taste - I reckon they'd not be disappointed by this line-up.

I could imagine Hodgey, singing it to Hawks fans - "Don't tell me, it's not worth fighting for. There's nothing I want more. You know it's true, everything I do, I do it for you."

Good thing is, I won't see any of the pre-match, I'll be on a bus in the middle of the Thailand jungle on that day.
The bad thing is (?) I'm unlikely to see the game.

summer of 69 is ******* 46 years ago! haha

I love Summer of 69!
But I was born in the Spring of 70 so I could be biased. ;)

The AFL would be better off having tumbleweeds blowing across the ground as pre-game entertainment. Get some Auskick kids out for half-time. Way too much fluff these days. Just play the bloody match and get on with it!
I apologise.
